Question about Sharp AR-M450N Copier
Posted by Anonymous on
This is a common problem on this machine. When the customer uses aftermarket toners this causes the waste toner from the drum unit to block up, causing the drum cleaning unit drive gears to strip the teeth from them & preventing the waste toner being fed to the receptacle located in the front of the toner container.
Unfortunately, this would require the drum unit to be stripped down & the waste assembly being disassembled to determine if the gears have been damaged.
Hope this helps.

For the 'CH' check the covers and make sure all covers are closed properly.
For the 'Blinking CH' take the dev. Unit open and the reinstall unit properly.

H3-00 means there was a problem in the fuser unit of the copier - a temperature problem. The correct temperature is not reached within a certain time.
It could be a thermostat or thermistor problem - both monitor temperature. you could remove the fuser unit and make sure these items are clean - no build up on them. there should be a center and side thermistor.
You can reset the error code in SIM mode by pressing the following keys one after the other "P" "interupt" "C" "interupt" then 14 and start/copy key. confirm if required. make sure the copier is restarted afterwards.
If the error persists then you may need new thermistors.
Hope this helps.

the DK message means it is time to replace the black drum unit. the drum unit is called an ARC26DU. open the front cover. remove the toner cartridge/s by lifting the green
lever and pulling the toner out. Open the left side door. look at where
you just pulled out the toner and there is one screw (facing you)
holding each drum in place - loosen the screw and pull the drum unit out
towards you....slide in the new drum unit.
to reset drum counter go into SIM mode by pressing the following keys one after the other "P" "*" "C" "*" then 24 and start/copy key then 7 then select the color drum you are replacing and confirm reset. make sure copier restarts afterwards
DO NOT refill these toner cartridges (even if you can find someone to do it) The toner cartridges for these machines have generally had ongoing problems as far as longevity and quality - refilling them will only make it worse.
