You have to send your self a text message with the sound in it like a pix message and then open the message hit options and save sound as a ring tone, or save as a sound.. tada easy

Need help on sending ringtones from my motorola v3

when you get a "sound" you want to save as a ringtone and you think you may want to use it again to send to another phone, always save it as a sound so that you can text it... Otherwise you can try looking on Phonezoo.com for the ringtone you want on your other phone, you'll have to sign up and select which phone you have. It is absolutely free. does not charge for ringtones and there is no subscription.

How can assign a sound as a ringtone?

You need to send the sound that you recorded and saved in your phone to yourself in a PIX (picture) message. No Subjects, Text or Pictures are necessary to have in this message, as only the sound itself is required. Once the message arrives on your phone, choose "Options", then "Save As Ringtone". Once you have saved it in that manner, go to "Get PIX and FLIX", then "My Ringtones". It will be stored as a fully usable ringtone there.

Make My Sound A Ringtone

The Solution that I found is send the sound to yourself in a picture message and once you receive it you can select options and there you will find Save as a Ringtone.

Sounds to ringtones

Try this:
Under Get It Now, choose Music & Tones; then choose My Sounds.

Highlight the sound you want to use as a ringtone and send it to yourself. When you get the text message, choose the option "save as ringtone". Now you can use it as a ringtone.

Making your own ringtones, not using verizon

Any sound, including recorded sounds, that are sent offers the option to save as ring tone upon opening the file. You do not have to send as a picture file.

Highlight the sound under your sounds file, select "send", and send it to your own number. When you receive it, open it and select options. One option (scroll down) is to save as a ringtone.

I do this all the time, so it absolutely works.
