Hi I have an 08 vw jetta 125 tsi the turbo doesn't

I would check the pressure blow off valve to see if it is stuck partially open. check hoses for holes or leaks where clamped. Also if you have a inter cooler for this turbo check it for cracks or leaks a pressure check of air to the cooler then spray with soapy solution to look for bubbles no bubbles after cooler good.

How do remove the pressure ,before you add r34 cooler

you never work from the high pressure side of an a/c system. EPA requires it to be recycled, freon is removed using a vacuum tool on the low port until the system holds vacuum for 5 minutes. Then the recycler is removed and freon is added. You mean R134 right?

My 185 ingersol compressor runs fine for 30-45 minutes, then it cuts off. If I wait 10-15 min it will crank and run for 3-5 minutes then shut off. I have all new fuel filters. What do you thibk could be...

From your description I think you are shutting down on high air end temperature. I recommend the following, Check the oil cooler. you want to make sure you are getting good air flow thru it. If not wash it with a pressure washer. I like to use my flash lite to check and make sure I can see thru it. dont look just at the middle check around the sides. If cooler is OK next check the amont valve (thermostat valve). This valve mixes oil from the cooler and bypass to get the temperature where it needs to be so condensate does not form in the oil. Next you may have a bad HAT switch which is located on the end of the air end. If you have a meter see if the switch opens when you have the shut down. you will need to make sure you really don't have a high temp situation. If the temp is high 228 F or higher the switch is doing its job. The temp limit should be located on the HAT switch. It could be 215,245 etc. If the unit is not hot and the switch opens replace the switch. Hope this helps you with your compressor problem.

Mike, an EP 75 Should not use more than 3 to 5 parts per million of oil. Your oil issue sounds like you have a separator that needs replacing or a plugged scavenge line. The separator is located in the oil tank. the scavenge line and orifice come from the bottom of the separator filter to and Thur the oil tank lid. then to the air end. In this line approx. 1ft from the lid should be the orifice. make sure its clean. your high air end temp can be from several different problems. 1- low oil level from separator or scavenge line plugged. 2- A plugged oil cooler. Dirt and debris pushed against the cooler by the the cooling fan. This needs to be cleaned using a pressure washer. Wash in the opposite direction of air flow. Be careful with the pressure washer. You can damage the cooler. Low oil level and dirty coolers are the most common problems when getting high air end discharge temp shutdowns. However you could also have a bad thermal valve located where the three cooler lines come together. you will have to remove one line and 4 bolts. inside is the thermal element. You may also have a bad HAT switch (high air end temperature). It is located in the end of the air end and simply unscrews. I do not know of any adjustment.

1.6 hdi when i rev the engine it sucks the rubber pipe in from the intercooler and will splutter and wont rev past 3000 revs? Thanks.

I'm not very conversant with your vehicle, as we have few where we are, but there are certain parameters to follow. First I would check for a restriction in the inter cooler or the air cleaner. The element may have become very contaminated.
  • Open the air cleaner and try the engine with the element removed.
  • If that doesn't work it will mean removing the inter cooler and checking for a restriction inside it.
  • The inter cooler unit is usually fixed with four five or six bolts.
  • It will also have an electrical connection for the cooling fan.
  • disconnect the fan at the socket provided.
  • Remove the clips for the rubber ducting and ease them off from the inter cooler.
  • Check the work outlined above
  • Your vehicle is a diesel powered, so if it's required to clean out the inter cooler unit, do not leave any water inside, as water can damage the engine, even breaking pistons.
  • Water is non compressible. The water won't accommodate the pistons, or rings, not even the cylinder head, each will bend shatter or break to accommodate the water.
The last suggestion is to replace the ducting as these may have become weak, but I doubt that.

My 96 850 Turbo has a issue related to the intake tube directly off the top on the inter-cooler. In colder conditions (0deg or lower) it will collapses the hose (like the engine is trying to in more air...

if you do by pass it i would leave the turbo in operation and just remove the hose of the inter cooler and put a air filter in place of the inter cooler.

Air compressor won't build pressure

If this unit has what appears to be a pipe with fins on it , you may have a ruptured inter-cooler which will be leaking where you stated.
