Question about Whirlpool Dryers

1 Answer

Azb 9750 The dryer is just over 2 years old. The dryer won't turn. When turned on "check filter" and "water tank" led's plashing red. Unable to reset. I took the side panel off and tried turning it by hand, belt slips on pulley but motor doesn't turn. No burned smell from the motor, no signs of overheating, burning/melting. How do I reset? Do you have a fault diagnosis/error code list that you could email me? norbidworak@gmail.com Your help will be greatly apprecited.

If the motor doesn't turn then the bearings have dried up and it seized. As this point the start winding likely overheated and it would blow a thermal cutoff inside the motor as well. Replace the motor.

SOURCE: Burning Smell from Belt on Whirlpool Dryer

Hi, You need to check and see if the belt has slipped off of one of the pulleys. Was the idler the wheels style or a glide style?
Make sure the grooves in the belt are facing the drum and they are in the grooves of the motor pulley.
Please let me know if this helps and if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: how do you check the belt?

You will have to lift the top to check the belt and also for access to change it. Burning could also be lint or wires so if it was not the belt make sure you find the reason and repair that carefully.

I have a whirlpool azb 9750 and seems to have no pore but the fuse in the plug an the socket power is all ok, is there an internal fuse or thermal reset within the dryer

There are some overload/temperature switches within the dryer. Most reset when the overload/temp gone. You could open up the back and follow the wires to the overload switches and check with an electrical tester to see if you have power passing through each. The wiring diagram should be inside the dryer, and show each switch.

Can't unscrew water filter canister from main water system, I tried silicone spray didn't work.

1. Turn the incoming water off.
2. Open closest cold water faucet, let it run until no water.
3. Turn off outlet valve after filter.
4. Hold down red pressure relief button, until no water.
5. Unscrew filter bowl with filter bowl wrench (if you have one).
If this does not work repeat steps 1-5 and turn the water off at well tank or water meter. Never tighten pre-filter with wrench, changethe o-ring every year and lubricate the o-ring every time filter is changed.

We pulled our stacked washer out from the wall to service the cold water hose filter on the back of the unit. when we pushed it back into it's location the washer won't start, won't fill...

I know you don't want to hear this, but either you did something to the hose filter or you didn't get it plugged back in correctly.

If you banged the water inlet valve in moving it back, it might be damaged.

Suggest you unplug everything and start over.

I have no hot water. my water heater is only 4 years old. I reset the circuit breakers and there are no red reset buttons on this model, that I could see. Any other ideas, before I have to call a plumber?...

The red reset button will be on the upper thermostat , behind the top cover, if you push it and it clicks, the water will start to heat, but you are not out of the woods the upper thermostat must be replaced. Easy job, turn off the power and take a digital picture of the wiring, remove the old one, only has two clips at the bottom that hold it to the tank, do not bend these just spring them out far enough to get the part out. When you put the new one in make sure it is pushed tight against the tank, and there is nothing between the two. Rehook the wiring and turn the power back on.

NOTHING WORKS

Check the foam filter on the underside of the recovery tank lid, make sure that it has at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. There also is a filter, from the bottom, it has a red frame, pull out far enough to clean it.
On the bottom of the tank, depress the vale to make sure water is coming out. With the tank off, squeeze the trigger, is the rod inside the handle pushing up against the diaphram, if it is, there maybe a problem with the reservior asm and will have to be replaced.
