A U2 means the machine did not see the lamp scan. The lamp did not leave the right side of the machine. May be hung up on something, may have broken a cable the scan motor may be bad, I would first of all remove the glass and see if there is anything binding the lamp and keeping it from scanning. If you think it feels tight to move, that is normal on a 5314. What I am looking for is the lamp stopping not being able to move.

This will most likely clear it. If not then the heat rod in the fuser most likely went bad.
Performing a Fault Reset 14 will reset your copier and will help to clear error codes.
