SOURCE: Casio Exilim EX-Z60 won't turn on

This happened to me too, fiddle with the lens as its obviously stuck. Don't be too rough but try to figure out if it is slightly bent.

You will only be able to this if the lens is sticking out a little, enough to get a grip.

Good luck

this is a common issue the lens gears are stripped. you have to change them out. if you do not fell confortable doing this it is recomended to take it to a digital camera repair company the only proble with that is like most people find out is their is not that many of us around and even if you do find one they might not work on casio. I do and their are a few others. hope this helps.

SOURCE: casio ex-z77/ lens error

you might have pushed the lens into the barrel. small lens barrel has 3 metal pins that ride inside the larger lens barrel as it twists. Pushing it sometimes cracks the plastic holding these 3 pins in. one way to fix it is to carefully disassemble the entire lens barrel. be careful...sometimes a part just snaps, or is already snapped. The easiest way would be to replace the lens assembly with a good one you can get from another camera like this. There are no spare parts for cams like this so you can try to get another cam that has a different damage other than the lens barrel.

Unfortunately you DO need to send it in to the technician. Sounds like at some stage the lens has been extended and has been 'knocked'.
Believe me when I say 'knocked', it could be as simple as placing it down on the table with the lens extended.
Get a quote first because they vary from place to place and if there are technicians 'on the ground', they can have it back to you by the end of play. Otherwise it can take over a week.

The best solution is to take it to Best Buy and have them look at it. The Kodak camera could still be under warranty.

Casio EXILIM camera lens will not extend fully!!!

Try plugging the PC interface cord into the external connector. No need to hook it up to your computer, just plug it in and out a few times. Then try to power up the camera.
Good luck.

It's the focus lens gears. The often times get knocked out of alignment by an impact, or debris gets in there. This can be fixed, but Casio won't help. Hint...google my username. ;)

Lens error

This is the lens focus gears. They are either knocked out of alignment, or debris has jammed them. The good news is it can be fixed....Casio most likely won't help. Hint...google my user name.
