Uploading info from the Edge 305

I can go into my device and upload the full Lap information. However it tells me that there isn't any Map and Graph information which I can't believe because everything you need to graph is there. And the map is on the devlce. I have downloaded the updates and still having no luck with it..

I am having the same problem, my edge 305 says there is no graph for the item no matter which day or lap information I try to view. All of the other data is there but the mapping and graph data is not found.

Apperently my unit had some old data prior to my purchase, (amzon selling returned equipment I imagine)

Anyway, I did a hard reset, (turn the power on while holding the mode button down) Erases all history. I then paired up my accessories again, tested it in 1 second mode and smart recording mode. The hard reset seemed to work for me. My 305 edge is now downloading map and graph data to my PC. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

How to reset your Garmin Edge 205 or 305

Edge 205 or 305 often crash, then impossible to power on again.

Here is the way to reset the Garmin edge :

Soft reset : hold mode and lap/reset buttons for 10 seconds
Hard reset : device should be powered down, hold start and mode buttons for 3 seconds then pulse press the lap/reset button.

After soft reset, you need to hold start button for up to 10 secs before it starts.

After hard reset, you will loose all your data, including profiles.

My garmin 305 edge won't turn on. I had it for about 2 years.

Try soft reset first then hard reset if not solving.
Soft reset : hold lap/reset and mode key for some seconds
hard reset : hold on/off and mode, then pulse on lap/reset.

after soft reset, hold start button for 10 secs before device starts again.

My Edge 305 will come on; however, when I press mode, it goes off. also, the start button will not work.

maybe the lap/reset button is continuously pressed. As pressing both mode and lap/reset performs soft reset.
Make sure the lap is not dusty ...

Otherwise try hard reset holding mode and start then pulse on lap/reset. all data will be lost but it makes it start correctly

Garmin 305 stops uploading data

Try maybe a different computer and see if it works. If it doesn't then something is wrong with your item. Clearing the history won't help.

I am charging the Garmin Edge 305 for 24 hrs or for at least over night, yet the Edge 305 will show 2 to 3 bars of charges and will last maximum 1 hour of riding time. What to do?

Discharge completely device then charge again for 8 hours.

If not working, then attempt Soft reset :
Hold mode and lap/reset for 10 seconds then release.
Start the device then by long press on start. DEvice should start and charge then

Date not changing

After my ride I needed to stop the timer and reset the device. Then connect to the computer and download the history. It appears that that information I was downloading was from a previous ride.

Garmin Edge 305 missing gps tracking information

Do you get the graphs for the most recent rides OK, but not the first ones on your trip?

If so, the memory is full. The Edge 305 will hold around 15 - 20 hours of cycling if you use the "smart recording" mode - any more and it starts to overwrite earlier trips (though the summary info in "History" is preserved). The only way around this is to download rides to a PC regularly (not really an option if you are away from a computer!).
