How to copy a doc. file to the flash drive.

Ok. here is what you need to do.

1. Hook your flash drive to any of the usb slot in your computer.
see image below bcfce55.jpg

Wait for the system to read it. A green arrow icon will appear in the taskbar to show that a new removable hardware device is connected. After it successfully recognized, It will display a message " The device is installed and ready to use" at the lower right portion of the windows taskbar.

Click on My Computer a new drive will appear. It is usually designated as removable drive. On this drive you will paste the copied doc files. It is the assigned drive for your flash drive.

So go on., copy all the files you need to carry and paste it in the flash drive.

Be reminded also that before you unhook the flash drive from the computer, right click first on the green arrow icon on the taskbar and stop the operation. Click stop on the flash drive. This will turn off the remaining applications / readings in the flash drive and will prevent it from crashing and file corrupting.

I hope you understand.
Please give me some good ratings as this will help me too.
Thanks.

How do you use usb sticks?

1. Plug thumb drive or USB into the USB port on the laptop.
2. Go to My computer and see if you see "Removable Disk" if yes then you double click here and you will see the contents of the USB drive.
3. load something from the laptop or PC to the usb just drag document or program from PC drive to usb drive.
4.Go to site called "Ehow" to gain more information.
Note of caution donot just pull USB from the usb port it will erase all the information and the USB drive will then be rendered usless.
5. Remove USB in the proper manner that is goto the "task bar and look for the "safe to remove hardware" icon or go to the "my computer" icon select the "removable disk" icon ( right click) and the select "eject" if the drive is busy or a message comes up that it is then closed all programs associated to it and the "Eject" the drive and remove it from the USB port.
I hope this helps. Have a good day!

All you do is plug the drive in and save the file containing the story to it instead of your hard drive. Use file save as and look for your drive in (It should show up as a removable disk) the drop down menu.

I have a PNY 4GB high speed USB Drive. I want to

Well, the easy way would be to do this

But if you want to use the USB drive just insert it into an open USB port
  1. click Start
  2. click My Computer
  3. Select the USB drive from the list of connected drives
  4. Click and drag the files from their location to the USB drive
To get them to the other computer follow steps 1-3, then click and drag them from the USB drive to their new location.

USB Connection. When connected to computer camera shuts off or displays USB error.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Usb flash drive

It is simple to use, simply plug it into a working USB port on your computer and Windows or Mac will detect it as an external drive device. You will find the new drive under My Computer. The bottom right may display a "found new hardware" or something similar. Once you find your drive, open it and choose what you want to put on it. Just drag everything you need onto the new drive. There is a possibility that you have to format it first. Do do that, just right click on the drive device and choose Format. Use FAT or FAT 32. To remove the USB drive, find Safely Remove Hardware close to the time, right click it and select remove. This is more important on a MAC because data could easily get erased if removed without giving instruction to remove it.
