Re: Connecting Sky TV to my projector

Which sky box do you have and which model projector. are you trying to use SCART or YUV or what.
Please describe the connector available on the sky box and the projector. if you dont know or they are not labeled nicely please refer to the chart in the link below and let me know what is on both boxes. I will do my best to reply with EXACTLY what cable you need and a good place to order it, US and UK.
Also let me know what distance you need to run.

Is there anyway that i can connect a nec vt695 to my tv

Connecting the nec to your tv, I think you mean you would like to get the TV's picture out from the NEC instead of the TV.

You need to connect your digital cable box or dvd player or vcr system, where the picture goes to the tv, to the projector instead to get it to display the tv picture.

Can't guarantee that it would work without knowing more about your equipment.

If that is not what you wanted to do then I do not know.

My clearco HD9000 projector works when connected to my PC, but does not work when connected to my laptop. I get a no signal message. Any suggestions?

You must enable external video on the laptop for one. Also, verify that the resolution is within the projector's range. Most likely, you do not have the external video connector enabled. There should be an "F" key with a symbol that looks like a TV screen. Holding down the function key and pressing that "F" key should toggle between the following 3 options:

1) External screen only
2) Laptop screen and External screen
3) Laptop screen only.

Toggle through the above as well and you should get the projector to work.

Sharp Notevision XR-1S projector

First off, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. SHORT ANSWER: you need to run a second separate line for audio from the DVD Recorder to the projector, you will need this cable: . . LONG ANSWER:-with clarification request-- I need to know which Sharp Notevision XR-1S you have, a google search returned two devices of the same model number, one being a very expensive DLP and the other being fairly affordable. The cheaper of the two is about the price of an iPod where the DLP version is the price of a Laptop. It would seem you cant connect your "Sky Magic Eye" device directly to the projector as that would require the projector to have what's called an 'RF Demodulator' which it doesn't. That is why someone told you to get the DVD recorder, as it contains a tuner.  You got the picture from the magic eye, according to your question, so your on the right track.  What I need to know to completely answer your question is what is the connection from your dvd recorder to the projector. I am going to guess that you have not hooked up the audio output f the recorder to the audio input of the projector. SKY is only available in the UK and not the USA where I live and we do not have anything as wonderfully easy as SCART connectors, I wish we did, my life would be easier. When you don't use SCART you need to run a SECOND line for audio. The audio line is typically two RCA connectors on either end of a cable 1 meter to 10 meters in length. The connectors are white and red in color. If the link didnt work just search for "rca cable" and get the cheapest one that is the correct length.  CHEERS.

Sharp XR-1S Projector

you'd be better off hooking the dvd up to an amp and run speakers off of that.

Sky + to a Hitachi CP-X340 Projector

I would use the s-video connection even though I see word that the Sky+ box does not have automatic aspect ratio switching on the s-video output. You could also use an SCART to RGB cable but the picture quality will only be marginally read:un-noticeably better. Here is an s-video cable: And here is the SCART to RGB:

HP MP3 3222 Projector

you dont connect a projector to a tv. you connect a video source to the projector like a dvd player or a video 360 etc, the projector then projects the item connected to it, like your tv does when you connect similar items. The projector has a couple of inputs available to it ..this is why it is saying searching VGA and Composite video etc
