Lenovo 3000 k100 Model # 57068347 does not start/turn on

This is a desktop, with minitower.
Nothing is happenning when we turn it on. there is some light sound of a small fan and the blue light on the tower, and that is it. we have checked the power supply with a tester and it indicated that everything is fine with the power supply. we have re-seated the chips as Lenovo tech recommended but nothing helped. Then I have been told this is the mother board but I can not find it anywhere.

Open your PC case and look at all the round little tubes around your CPU fan area. They are called Capasitors and if any of them are bulging or have a brown crust on them they went bad and will need to be replaced. I've had many of PCs come in with this issue and once the caps are replaced the PC works fine again.

Go to www.crucial.com if you are in the USA or www.crucial.com/uk if you are in the UK and allow their scanner to check your machine

They do not leave any software on it but will tell you what is the optimum configuration and will also give you a costing

They are not the cheapest but their ram is very high quality and is backed by a very good warranty

You say the laptop all of a sudden flashed off.

How old is the laptop? You may have suffered one of two things? First of all, if the hard drive will not boot back up, even after using the recovery discs, then that would explain it powering off. I have seen this happen on old desktop hard drives.

Next, try to get the transformer or adapter tested. It may not be putting out enough amperage to run the laptop.
