Question about Acer Aspire Z5600 PC Desktop

Touchscreen Problem Hello! I seem to have problems with my touchscreen as it doesn't work... I had that problem once but I re-installed windows and it worked. But now I've got some important files on here, what can I do... Because it took me ages to do the important things, so nearly anything apart from re-installing will be AWESOME. Cheers.

First, you want to back up your files. That way if you have to, then you reinstallxwithoutcloss.is it a hardware issue?

you mean touchpad , right?

go to start button

control panel

mouse icon

adjust touchpad

otherwise would need to find touchpad name and make

start

control panel

system icon

device manager(first on upper left)

scroll down to find touchpad

uninstall

then use new hardware scan in upper left

restart computer

Do you hear a beep when you touch the screen? If you do it is more than likely a software issue, or the cameras are misaligned..
First thing to try is Scroll Lock Calibration.. Press Scroll Lock on your keyboard 5 times quickly, your cursor should move to the top left of your screen, press and hold your finger on it until you hear a beep, remove your finger and itshould automatically move to the top right, repeat for each corner, when it is done the cursor will move to the middle of the screen, and the touch screen should be working
If the computer does not beep when you tocuh the cursor and the cursor does not move when you remove your finger it means your touch is not being recognized... it could be a software or hardware issue, here is one way to find out..
First do a power drain.. shut down the computer and unplug everything from it (including the power cord) and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.. Now boot the computer into BIOS by tapping F10 on startup.. inside the BIOS touch the screen.. do you hear a beep? if so it is a software issue, if not more than likely it is a hardware issue
A few other things you can try... open the Touch Screen Configuration Tool inside the Control Panel, make suire the touch screen and sound are enabled, select the Troubleshooting tab, click Restore Defaults, try the Calibration function... beyond that you could try System Restore/System Recovery..

You will have to install the drivers for it.
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your pc, Gateway in your case, and search for support- downloads.
Then download the drivers for Windows 8 and install them.

Either you have turn the Touch function off or the problem might be with the connection its might be loose. You can check in the control panel for Touch function. Or your keyboard might have quick function keys. The bottom of the keyboard has (fn) and another key on the keyboard will have the touchscreen icon.

Touch screen will not work on laptop


Check all drivers are loaded for the touchscreen interface, if they are remove them and re-install.

If that doesn't solve your issue I would check the cable that connects the touchscreen and that the touchscreen is fitted correctly.

you can save all your personal data and re-install the O.S. again, or try to go to the computer properties and check if the touch screen drivers are there , if not you need to install it.

Touchscreen on a Garmin nuvi 1350 doesn't work. How do I fix this.


Try recalibrating it using the following method:

Nuvi 11xx, 12xx, 13xx, 14xx, 24xx, 25xx Series: Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and then push down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen. Press all of the prompted dots.

Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete

This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display.

If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective and may need to be replaced.

Touchscreen driver


You need to find out what Co. made the touchscreen for that model to see if they have updated touchscreen drivers for windows 8.
Sounds like your machine was intended for XP,

My touchscreen is not working after i instal windows 7

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue is due to the Driver for the Touchscreen sensors.
As you have changed the Operating System, it is required to install the Touchscreen Device Driver for the Windows 7 Operating System.
Once the Driver is installed, the Touchscreen Device should work normally.

Download the touchscreen driver from the Panasonic site.

Go to Start > Control Panel > System
Click the hardware tab.
Click the device manager tab.
In device manager click on Mice and other poiting devices
Select the touchscreen with left click and click the unistall option.
Once done close all windows and install again using the downloaded file from Panasonic.
