SOURCE: cannot recognize ink cartridges
If you are using non genuine Epson carts, then you need to change the carts to genuine ones (full set I'm affraid)
Once you have replaced the carts you should find the error goes away. The problem arises somehow from non genuine carts when one (or more) is inserted that has not been "reset" properly by the refiller. This causes a cascading error through the ink monitoring system and ends up with all your inks going empty one after the other. I've seen this on several models of Epson printer.
The alternative is that the printer has fault on the main board. try the carts first it's the cheapest option. If the nmachine is in warranty, get Epson out to it.

Best thing to do is just replace the the indicated ink cartridge. Reason being is that even though the cartridge still has ink in it, it is the metal contacts on the cartridge that have to communicate with the printers on-board memory. If the contacts on the cartridge are fouled and are not communicating with the printer, the cartridge is telling the printer that "I am empty and I need to be replaced", even if it is full of ink. This would apply to all six cartridges.

I had the same problem. To solve the problem, I swapped positions with the yellow and magenta, and the light on the magenta cartridge stayed bad. By this I knew my magenta cartridge was the problem. I then pried the bottom of chip outwards to give it a better contact and the flashing yellow light (15flashes) went away and the printer worked normally.
