Question about HP LaserJet CM1017 MFP All-In-One Color Printer
My printer just started printing one or two colored bars or lines when printing page with color. Does not do it on b&w page. I cleaned it, ran the cleaning routine, but still does it. Ideas?
This is a long shot. Do you use the printer very infrequently? In other words does it sit for long periods of time between printing? Like over a month?
If so, that could be an indicator that your color cartridge head is clogged.
Ink dries. The more you use a printer, the better it likes it. Sitting a long time between print jobs is hard on a cartridge.
The print heads have very very VERY tiny holes that ink is discharged through. When they clog up, you can have that happen.
A quick and easy solution to that particular problem is to soak the cartridge in warm water for about 90 seconds. Only submerge the print head and no more of the cartridge.
Wipe off the bottom with a lint free soft cloth and reinstall the cartridge to verify it works.
If that does not resolve it, then you may have a cable issue, or driver issue with your software.
Hope that helps.
