Question about Sony Bluetooth Wirleless Transmitter for iPod (Black) (TMR-BT8IP)

1 Answer

TMR-BT8iP not working

For some reason, this bluetooth dongle does not work with my ipod classic, but does with my older 5th generation ipod.

The ipod classic is fully charged and works with several other things that use the same port (charger, usb connection to pc, ipod speaker dock)

I have also tried the dongle on two friend's ipod classics and it works fine.

The buttons on my ipod classic (30gb model) don't work properly

font.f1 { font: 12px Helvetic Thanks for asking your question with Fixya Support. I will be glad to assist you.

Anytime your iPod's mechanical functionality is not where it should be, the easiest way to restore the device's button operations, is to either perform a restore

Or attempt to reset your iPod:
• Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
• Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. If it does not work the first time, you may have to repeat this process.

To acquire more troubleshooting options to regain operational capacity of your iPod Classic,
I have included the link from Apple for your model of iPod.

iPod (5th Gen) Troubleshooting Assistant

These processes should help restore the button functions on your iPod Classic.

I hope this helps. If it does not, please feel free to reply back to this post, I am always glad

How i can change the background on my ipod?

Here are two different guides on how to do it. Note that the first one only works for the 5th generation ipod video. The second hack does "not work on Mac computers, and like many other iPod hacks, it doesn't work on the Shuffle, 2nd and 3rd generation Nano, and the new Classic or iPod touch due to higher levels of encryption." Please also note that this will void your warranty with Apple.

Either the ribbon cable from batter/usb to the battery pack is loose, broke, or brittle, or the software needs to be updated which can be done from apple site under download or support tabs.

I want to know which generation is the Ipod 30G model A1136, thanks

There are two 5th gen iPods, A1136 model is the older 2005 model, not the later 2006 model.

Here is Apples link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#ipodfifth2 which will show the differences, but not by model number. The reason I know this model number is the first 5th gen 2005 is because I have one. Also older 2005 should have '2005' engraved on rear.

My ipod says www.apple.com/support/ipod When I hit menu the apple logo appears and then is replaced by the X and the apple support message but is not reconized by itunes. Help

95% of the time, when you get the sad face or now on the new 6th generation classics and 3rd and 4th generation nanos it's a cross, it means that you have a faulty hard drive. You can buy hard drives for reasonable prices on ebay. You'll be looking for a Toshiba MK8010GAH if you're using a 5th generation iPod video, and if you're on the 6th generation classic you'll be looking for either a Toshiba MK8022GAA or a Samsung HS081HA. The Samsung's are more reliable.
