Question about Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder
I am using the Dazzle DVD Recorder, just out of the package. So far today, out of my four attempts, I've only managed to record one DVD from a VHS successfully. After recording that DVD, I tried to record another DVD from another VHS, and the Dazzle DVD Recorder seemed to freeze up while "generating disc menu". The progress counter on this task climbed to 40 minutes before I gave up, closed the recorder, and restarted my computer. I decided to attempt to record the same VHS again, so I popped a new DVD into my burner, and started recording again. This time, about halfway through, the audio died, though the video was still recording. I tried all of the cords and I even stopped and started the VHS, but I could not revive the audio. So, I clicked "Stop Recording" and let Dazzle DVD Recorder finish up. The DVD is playable in my DVD player, but loses sound at the same point as I saw while recording. In one last ditch effort to record this VHS, I popped in a new DVD and started recording. The audio worked perfectly as soon as I began the new recording, but this time, the audio failed about 3/4s of the way through.
I am extremely frustrated, and would love some suggestions. I am disappointed about the expense of this DVD Recorder which is, at best, hit or miss when it comes to recording videos, and the DVD+Rs I have lost.
The audio failure sounds more like a VHS player failure than a DVD software/recorder failure. Both audio and video are transferred at the same time to the DVD, and as long as the DVD recorder is working, that's really all there is. I would check the VHS player and confirm that the sound actually works all the way through.

Please check you video card if the drive is up to date. Please tell the what type of video card do you have in your computer?
To check go to device manager then click on the display adapter and you will see the exact name of your video card.

Check your audio device under device manager. By locate this check one.
Click on Start>Control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound and video games controller> right click on video capture device and uninstall it. Restart your computer. After you restarting the computer make sure that new hardware found message coming out. After you did that open again your IDVDR or Pinnacle Studio program and then check if the same problem.
