SOURCE: My sterling and Noble westminster chime clock is not chiming. I have brand new batteries installed but still no chime

A handsome clock in solid red oak. The face is off white with a convex lens and a bright brass-toned bezel. The Westminster chime is pleasant sounding while counting the hours.

Runs on 4 AA batteries; two to manage the clock and two for the chime. The external speaker is located at the top of the clock for a clear, unimpeded sound. A button on the chiming unit allows you to control the striking of the hours.

You will see above that one set of batteries does the chime. Make sure they are good and inserted with correct polarity.

As mentioned, look for a button switch to turn the chimes off It is a feature so you can turn the chimes off when you go to bed.

I have a Dakota Daniels grandfather clock. The chimes work, the pendulum works, but the clock hands don't move.

Change the batteries. The weight makes the pendulum and chimes work, but the clock in this thing is battery operated :>)

    Pendulum wont swing

Clock may either need to be decked out from the wall at the top, or pushed all the way up against the wall. These clocks have inexpensive quartz movements that aren't of the highest quality. If the clock is more than a few years old, it may be that the electromagnet that impulses the pendulum back and forth has just expired. You might try Clockit.com, or maybe Timesavers.com to find a replacement movement. Hope this helps, Good Luck

    Pendulum does not move

    Good details! Go to Timesavers.com
You can find a replacement pendulum unit there. Your pendulum mechanism probably has a bad coil. The coil is extremely difficult to repair.

Press the red button at the back and go through all the hourly chimes until you get to the next chime due i.e. if its 3.15 whebn your doing this, only go through the chimes until 3 o'clock and no further. Then turn the hands clockwise ONLY never anticlockwide and she should be fine.
