Does this cooker hood simply filter or should it be an extractor vented through an outside wall?

SOURCE: I had to cut the electricity in the house

The circuits in the devices have reset to a safe condition should the power be interrupted. They MAY require you disable power for a few minutes and then repower and THEN do some sort of a reset.

No power to cooker hood

Should be on a separate breaker, sometimes wired to a clock/fridge circuit. Check all breakers. I have seen people wire them to a GFCI outlet as well, not supposed to, but people still do it. Check for 120Vac at the fan and light switches, if its ther your switch is bad, it not there cicuit is not connected to power supply.

Do i need to ventilate my wall oven

No, all wall ovens have a built in cavity extractor fan. When the oven is turned on this fan operates and blows air from the oven cavity through a vent at the front of the oven, normally just above the door. This keeps the outer oven and cabinet cooled sufficiently.

When the oven is on cold air constanly comes out the vents over oven door. Never did that with ild oven. thanks

This is the oven cavity extractor fan. It removes all the hot air from the oven cavity and blows it out the front. When the oven is hot and you turn it off the fan will continue to work until the oven cavity cools down.

Do I need a fan for exhauting air from the kitchen when I use a Sunfire gas convection oven?

The oven burns using a gas and oxygen mix , if the room is airtight the oven will go out and you will suffocate.

All cookers should be used in a reasonably well ventilated area which can include extractors and open doors or windows.

This environment gives the cooker enough air to work with and clears cooking smells from the room

Extractors are optional but good ventilation is crucial.
