Hey Guys Same problem.. I have had this printer for several years, used it heavy. About a month or so agao I so glimmers of this happening, but it booted after awhile. No finally in an endless loop of booting in the LCD display. Tried all the options here with no luck...Is it firmware? I saw some place else it might be wireless card card. Is that possible? Any other suggestions before I trash this and buy a Cannon?

Ok and cancel didn't solve the problem

I have the same problem. 2 days ago (printer worked just fine before this), my wireless connector wasn't working so I had to re-boot my wireless router. Once I did so, it put my office jet 741 (all-in-one printer) into this mode like it's warming up. Tech support tried the # and 6 at the same time while plugging it in as well as the cancel + stop buttons but no results (even with multiple attempts. I have option of making this a local printer or a wireless printer on home network (which is how it was set up when it suddenly stopped workin) but it funcitoned beautifully for over 6 months as a network printer. Tech support says it's shot... time for the Printer Grave! But if it's getting power and just won' leave the warm up screen, it can't be "dead" I've been working on this for 3 days now! Arrrrrgh! :-(

Any suggestions, tips and/or advice? I'm pretty PC savvy including devices such as printers, etc.... Talk to me!

I had this same problem, and from other spots on this site, seems like other are too. Disconnecting the wireless card from the main board is THE solution to this problem. I wrote a how-to with pictures on my blog. Please check it out:

DO NOT USE ok + cancel!!
use # + 9 instead for reset.

HP 7410 will not boot. It powers up and the HP logo screen flashe

This was solved really well on this blog. It is some problem with the wifi board. If you disconnect it (no so hard and well explained on the blog) you will have network printing over a cable but no wireless.

7410 is frozen cannot receive fax or print

SOLUTION:
  1. Ensure that you have a two contact phone cable connected to line 1 socket of the printer and that the other end of the cable is connected to the phone jack in the wall.
  2. Perform a partial reset on the printer. To do this first remove the power supply from the back of the printer. With the power off press and hold the # and 3 keys.
  3. Plug the power back into the printer, keep holding the # and 3 keys till you see “ Partial Reset ” displayed on the printer screen.
  4. If this does not resolve the issue contact HP
