Question about Kobo E-reader Touch 2gb, Wi-fi, 6in - Silver

My computer tells me I need new usb drivers for my kobo touch. Anyone know anything about this issue?

Trying to start fresh so I did a factory reset using the 'pin' method and downloading www.kobosetup.exe. I double click the setup file and get (another) new kobo desktop. It syncs all my books, then tells me to plug in my kobo using the provided usb cord. When I do that I get a message to the effect that the USB Drivers are corrupted, and then the whole lot 'freezes' in Sleep Mode. Any help available re: KOBO USB Drivers?

Try to fix your problem by using one of the following methods:

Kobo frozen. Willl not respond to touching button


Performing a basic reset A basic reset will force your eReader to restart properly. In many cases, this is enough to restore your eReader to normal.
  1. If possible, turn off your eReader.
  2. Locate the small hole on the bottom of your eReader.
  3. Unfold a paperclip and slide an end into the hole.
  4. Press gently until you feel a click. Your eReader should restart.

you may loose all settings but im sure it has a cloud backup as most do

My kobo is frozen on starting sync won't turn on or off


Note: If your Kobo device has been physically damaged, it is no longer covered by Kobo's limited warranty. On a Kobo eReader, a physically damaged screen will look like it's been shattered, or you may see vertical or horizontal lines on the screen with a frozen image. If you haven't dropped or damaged your Kobo eReader, but are experiencing issues, try the steps below in the order suggested.
  • Turn your eReader off and then on again.
  • If your screen is frozen, slide the power button to the right and hold it for 10 seconds. Your eReader should turn off.
  • Turn your eReader off and charge it for at least four hours. Note: Your computer should be turned on while you are charging your Kobo eReader.
  • If your eReader isn't charging, try using a different Micro USB cable or a different USB port on your computer. Note: If your eReader's battery is completely drained it can take up to 15 minutes before it reacts to being plugged into power.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Aura H2O, Kobo Aura, Kobo Aura HD, Kobo Glo, or Kobo Mini: tap the centre of the screen to bring up the Reading Menu, tap the > Home icon to return to your Home screen, then open your book again.
  • If you're having trouble while reading a book on your Kobo Touch: press the Home button and open your book again.
  • Try a basic reset.
  • If you're still having issues, consider a factory reset.
  • If you're unable to reset your device, please contact Kobo Customer Care

Kobo plugged into computer but nothing happens when I press connect


Do you have the proper device driver installed on the computer?

Kobo screen locked on restarting


Try a basic reset which won't affect your data. With it off, hold down the power button for 8 seconds, release and then press power button again once firmly. At worst, a factory reset which will erase everything putting it back to how it was new, will resolve the issue. On the back, bottom left, you'll find a small hole. Enter an unfolded paper clip or similar and press down until you hear a click. The kobo will rest itself.

Kobo n613 not charging, no battery level indication on screen. Changed charger but still not charging. Also, do not know how to remove back cover to access the battery.

I do not have the n613 but please check your USB ports as these some time give a problem when you try to charge your battery through the computer - also check your connects from the e-reader to the computer as this could also be a problem..... if the above still does not work I suggest you plug the e-reader in and try and re update it...

The touch screen is not working. i can not get to the menu or do anything. it responds to the wrong icon when touched


Please provide is some more details about your device.
That either could be a hardware issue or a software issue.

If a software issue, then you could just restart it and try again. Or factory reset it.
Many a times formatting and fresh starting off helps in software issues.
Latest devices have firmwares to be installed which on re-installation helps solving most of the issues.
