Use the power button on the front of the console, to put it in standby mode (red light on). Then press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps. This should reset your display output settings.

Probably changed the display settings. Turn off the Playstation 3 and the hold the power button for about 5 seconds, until you hear a second set of beeps. It sounds like you have changed your display settings either to HDMI but are not connected with HDMI or you have set the progressive scan and it's not supported by your TV. The above procedure will reset your display settings they auto detect your connection, provided you have kept up with the updates. Let me know if this doesn't work for you.

After changing batteries the shutter activates on any setting

Four possibilities:
1. No SD memory card in camera or not seated.
2. Using a 16GB (or larger) SDHC memory card - not supported
3. SD memory lock switch is on (on the memory card itself)
4. You may be "sliding" the shutter switch, which takes a picture but does not save it. This is used for testing your exposure. You must press the shutter button straight down (I know this sounds silly, but I had to post this for anyone else that may have a similar issue).

Hope this helps!

Which button or switch are you using to take a picture?

No picture (black screen) after remote control button-presses

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Looks focused but isn't

Try this.

Switch D80 on.
Reset the camera by pressing the two buttons with a green dot beneath them on the top of the D80, right hand side.
The buttons are AF and +-.
These must be pressed together at the same time for a few seconds.
This is just in case you have set something strange, you do not need to do this all the time.

Set the command dial to Auto.
Set the button on the lower front/left hand side to AF.
Set the lens to A.

Now you can just take pictures, the D80 will autofocus and set the exposure itself.
