Question about Washing Machines
Dirty/black marks are deposited on white/light items. This happens when doing a large wash, but more specifically when washing my (Queen size)fluffy blanket. I've cleaned around the inside rim of the tub and and always clean the (2) lint bags. Any help in eliminating this problem is appreciated.
If this is moldy looking you should use 1 cup of bleach in the drum with no clothes on the longest wash cycle with the hottest water. But I believe this is oil from the drive train and the seals on the bottom of the drum are going bad. When you wash something heavy like the blanket, it leaks.

I have this problem too and I solved it easily !!!!
I hypothesised that something was blocked by dried up lint/silt. So I filled the machine with very hot water and also poured hot water down the lint filter outlets. I left it for 5 minutes and then started a wash cycle - and the water now comes out of the lint filter ducts. ! :-)

Run a hot wash with a Descaler which is available form most hardware stores.Marks on washing usually comes from a build up of detergent and softner between drums.
