Question about Konica Minolta bizhub Office Equipment & Supplies
The machine is plugged in and it does not turn on
Is your power source a direct plug-in to a wall outlet? Make sure both the upper and lower parts of the duplex receptacle are working properly; use a volt meter or in the absence of one, use a desk lamp or some other electrical appliance to test that the outlet is working.
If you are using a power strip or a combination power strip-surge protector, make sure the switch is turned "on" and that the internal breaker did not "trip"; press the reset button if there is one present.
The same way you checked the wall outlet for power, check the power strip the same way. Yes it is possible for any one of the outlets to be defective while the others work.
Check the power cords, make sure there is no loose connection or have been disconnected entirely.
Make sure the wall outlet is not controlled by a wall switch- on rare occasions I have responded to service calls where this has been the case.
Beyond that, you will need the service manual for that particular model printer to take you through the troubleshooting steps; which will require taking apart the printer's casement and exposing moving parts.
It could be a defective "on-off" switch; power supply; main board, etc. I don't know your skill level and if you are tech savvy.
You can contact the manufacturers' tech dept personnel; they may walk you through basic troubleshooting steps like I just did before authorizing a warranty repair or return repair order.
If it's no longer under warranty and its going to cost you more than half- or two thirds of what it cost you to buy the printer in the first place; go buy a new one and dismantle the old one for the precious metals and collect some money back on it. Copper, gold, stainless steel, and aluminum are at a premium these days.
