Lenovo laptop and customized desktop pc cannot detect my printer
Very simple fix.
Step 1 : Open the windows menu (start button, bottom left)
Step 2 : Type in "device" (where it says "search programs and files" at the bottom of the windows menu)
Step 3 : Select "Device Manager"
Step 4 : open the "Other" or the "Printers" tab.
Step 5 : Select the device (your printer), then right click on it.
Step 6 : then select "update driver software"
That's what usually Fixes this particular problem...

It could be the cable, but most likly it is a damaged driver. try uninstalling the printer and all the drivers then reboot and resinstall it. You could also run "sfc /scannow" to see if any system files are damaged.

Did you download the latest drivers from the website? It looks like they were posted this month. I would report the issue. It is quite likely there is a compatibility issue. Have you contacted canon at all about this problem? Once I have more information I can try and assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee
