Question about Cuisinart Tea-100 Perfectemp Programmable Tea Steeper & Kettle
Well i have a cousinart Tea maker, a couple of weeks ago it smoked and stopped working, after checking i found that there is a small power supply where there were components burned, to be specific a LNK304dn, an OL resistor and a disk capacitor, after some research i found that the circuit is an implementation of the LNK304, almost all components are as advised in the LNK304 datasheet but thera are some of the components in the input 2 of them burned that aren't as advised in the datasheet, i did research again and i'm pretty sure that it is a snubber configuration since there is a 5 ohm resistor in series with the disk capacitor and this two components are in parallel with a diode, my problem is that the capacitor was completely burned and it is impossible to identify it's value, i supposed that it is at least a 125V or a 1000V capacitor probably 100pF since i can barely see a 1 before the burned area, so i supposed the only way is to see the schematics of these appliance or the power supply configuration which i supposed it might be used in other appliances, thanks in advance guys!

SOURCE: No Power
I guess you have the manual, but here is the link if anyone else needs it; http://www.cuisinart.com/share/man/25_man.pdf the unit is still under warranty, so contact cuisinart on: 1800-726-0190. http://www.cuisinart.com/contact/ It sounds like there is probably something significantly wrong, not able to check without voiding the warranty - first check plugging the coffee maker into several other outlets, just in case it is the plug that is the issue, try wiggling the power cord at the machine end - make sure it is dry first in case it has a loose contact just inside, bet even if this is the case it still needs to be fixed. Apparently cuisinart are pretty good with repairs and replacements, but unfortunately you have to pay postage - maybe check at the store you bought it and see if they will do anything for you - most will if you ask right and have the receipt. Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: Coffee Maker stopped working
you can take the coffee maker apart, from the buttom. there 3 to 4 screws holding the inside guts together. take a look the themo fuse. it should have anumbe rstempted on it. go to local appliance repiar shop and get a themo fuse.
replacement make be difficult. the themo fuse is cramped, not soldered. (because of high temperture.)
at side from that, you can the the repair shop do the job or get a new one.

SOURCE: Recipe book blatantly wrong
I've found that the recipe books that come with most appliances, aren't very accurate. They don't accomodate different altitudes or even different countries. I hate trying to convert European recipes to American. European recipes list their dry ingredients by weight, not by volume. I had to find a recipe converting website to change a lot of those that sounded good.

There is a defect with your coffee maker. It uses a momentary switch,
but is supposed to stay on for 30 minutes. I believe there is a common
failure due to heat sensitivity of an IC on the board. I suspect this
is a timer chip. See my other postings on this.

Yes it has a short. Mine did the same. Cost to much to fix, cheaper To buy new one, if under 3 years old cuisinart will replace for $10 shipping charge. 1-800-726-0190
