Question about LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer

TE1 error...thermistor seems fine

I have an LG DLE5977 dryer that was making a loud rumbling noise. I replaced the faulty roller but when I turned the dryer back on I got a TE1 error. I've taken out the thermistor and checked the resistance and it seemed fine. What else could it be? Where can I get a service manual for this model?

That's a bad thermistor, the thermistor isn't alot of money it's like 15 dollars, change it out, remove the code anf go from there but it should fix it,also check the wire connections.the tech sheet will tell you how to get it into diagnostics to remove the code

SOURCE: LG DLE5977 Electric Dryer

Below are some solutions that other customers have cited. The control board seems to have a glitch in it, so I would take it back and get a replacement. New product is covered by a factory warranty or a dealer replacement guarantee. My husband and I just BARELY bought an LG Electric Dryer. I'ts model #DLE2516W. As soon as you hit the power button, "check filter" comes on. The right after that, the error code "Te1" flashes and it does nothing but beep. Clearly, the filter has NOTHING in it because I've never run a load of clothes thru it. When I look in the troubleshooting section of the owners manual, it tells me that this means that the thermistor is open and needs to be replaced. But I'm confused as to why a BRAND NEW dryer already needs a part replaced. Can ANYONE please help me. I have lots of laundry to do. Haha!

Our Whirlpool gas WGD5300 gas dryer makes a loud rumbling noise toward the end of the cycle or if there is a light load. The rollers and drum has already been replaced. The unit is only 18 months old. ...

Hi amymaundrell...

I think that your repairman missed replacing one of the drum rollers, or one of them was faulty, because that is the only thing that can make a loud rumbling noise as you describe...take the dryer back apart and check the rollers and also run the motor without the drum attached to check to see if the motor is the culprit.
I will include a link to the webpage for a parts breakdown and parts ordering is possible.
If the rollers look good, take them off anyway and clean and lube the rollers inside and also lube the shafts with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil or a light lube like vasoline. This will help the rollers in the future from making squeeling noises from metal to metal contact.

HELLO MY DRYER LG MOD DLG5988S GIVE ME A CODE TE1 AND IT DONT START ONLY MAKE A BIP SOUND. SOME BODY CAN HELP ME??

The "tE1" error has to do with the dryer's thermistor. The code indicates the thermistor is open, meaning that it has cracked or broken off, possible the wires are off. if the wires are good then you will need to replace the thermistor. The Thermistor is located next to the blower section of the dryer should have a bule and orange wire and it is on the blower housing. here is a picture and if you need to order it:

Making a rumbleing noise

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine, Unplug the dryer, remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers.
Check your rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them replace them.
If they don't then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Loud rumbling noise with slight vibration

Normally the noise you hear is caused by the drum rollers having flat spots on them or needing lubricant.
If this is what is wrong It will make a kind of thumping noise.
When they need lubricant they will normally make a squealing noise also. You would lube the shaft and bearing area of the roller, using a good machine oil...something like "3 in One" oil.

I have a thumping noise as the dryer runs, but it seems to work fine.

Look closely at the seam of the dryer drum, at the very front and the very back. I suspect that the seam has developed a crack, and makes a thumping noise each time the crack passes over the drum support rollers. You will have to replace the drum to eliminate the problem
