unplug from electric, wait 30 seconds, plug back in. Check that you have power at the outlet (fuse/breaker shut off?) If it has a power word which plugs into the TV as well as the wall, be SURE it is tightly attached to BOTH. Make sure you aren't blocking the remote control receiver (you can turn most TVs on/off on the TV itself -- look for a power button). Be sure your remote has fresh batteries. Good luck!

try replacing channel up and down tact switch..this probably helps..

It could but it could be about 50 other things as well. You have a voltmeter, and know how to use it? going to need a service manual as well.

So it won't turn off via remote or side buttons?

Quite possibly one of the heat sinks has come loose or a power supply cooling fan has failed.
Have you tried blowing it out using canned air?

I have a 42in vizio led with about the same problem i replaced a 75 cent chip # u33 on computer board problem fixed.

There must be a button marked "CC" on your TVs remote control. Press it once. It will make the closed caption windwow off.
