How do you insert a drill bit?

Grasp the ring at the nose of the drill. It has knurling around it. Pull it forwards and insert an impact rated driver bit or hex shank drillbit. Let the bit slide into the recess until it bottoms out. Release the knurled ring. You should hear the little keeper bearings spring back into place. Your toolbit should now be captive so you can go to work.

My impact drill runs fine, but the working end does not turn.

If the motor is spinning but the bit isn't you have one of two problems. The armature has gear teeth on the end to turn the transmission. If they are stripped out you need a new armature, part number 16-01-3020. If the armature teeth are OK, you need a gear box assembly, part number 14-30-0920. If you don't have a tool repair shop near you to get parts from, you can find them on sites like where prices are fair but you do have to pay S&H.

I have a 18 volt makita cordless impact driver i can not get the driver bit out it seems to be stuck in the chuck very tight

Try holding the bit with pliers and running in reverse, maybe with a shot of oil. That might free it up. You can also try tapping it (firmly) on the side of the bit

How do i put a drill bit?

An impact driver won't work very well as a drill. In fact it will probably break drill bits in anything but very soft material (like drywall). A drill bit needs a smooth continuous motion, because it cuts continuously as it turns. An impact driver turns with a staccato motion.

I have a bit that I can not get out of my impact driver. When I pull back to release it it will not come out. Do you have any sugestions?

Yes.... the bits can "spin" just a bit and will jam in the chuck sometimes...
Grab the bit with a large pliers and spin it backwards with a hard jerking motion... then the bit will can also use the pliers to get a better grip on the bit to pull it out easier when the release is pulled back...
But it is just twisted a bit in there and you just need to twist it back again...

My driver will Work until the rachet starts then it just spins. What needs to be fixed on it?

If you begin to ratchet, and then the bit stops, and the drill is still running, the gearbox will have to be replaced. That is a part # 616908-03 and runs about 80.00

Here is a link to the DeWalt website where you can download the part diagram, take the unit apart, and verify that this is all you need.

Ryobi impact drill compatibility with normal drill bits

Round bits are not compatible with the Ryobi impact drivers. You need the hex shank "quick connect" bits and accessories. There is an adapter available. it is basically a regular style of keyless drill chuck with the quick connect hex shank that should fit right in to your Impact.

How do you change the drill bit for a Ryobi?

My husband explained this, via phone ..... made it simple....... grab the silver ring area beneath the black top area where the drill bit is located. Hold the silver area firmly, while you twist the black top. You will see the release, then remove drill bit. Laymen's terms, but it worked!!
