I need to connect my video camera to my computer to capture the video. My computer is not recognizing it as a video camera and I do not have the original cd. I think I need the drivers to have the camera...

You need to use a firewire cable to transfer the video stream from camera to the PC. This is because the gs34 (supposedly) does not support full speed USB 2.0.
You need to have a firewire port on your computer. If you do not have one, you can purchase a firewire card.

Please refer this page for more information about this problem.

This thread gives some information about purchasing the cable and the card.

I have camcorder trv 355e I WANT DRIVERS FOR the same for os windows 7

This type of camera downloads video with a Firewire (Sony call this i.Link) connection. Some mini-DV and D8 cameras have a USB connection which is used for stills ONLY.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card. This will come with a driver for the card.

Suitable Firewire (DV) cables can easily be found on Amazon or eBay. You will need the kind with a small (four pin) connector at one end and a larger (six pin) connector at the other. My camera came with the correct lead.

There is a Sony tutorial page for downloading video to computer at THIS LINK You will need to select Windows as the operating system, then Digital8 as the camera type, then select the type of connection. As you will see, the USB option warns that it won't work with many cameras, and you are strongly recommended to use i.Link (which everyone else calls Firewire).

My SCD 103 Camcorder does everything BUT will not play back on my LCD screen, Computer or TV (With USB hook-up)....

This camera downloads video over a Firewire (DV) connection. Some mini-DV cameras only use the USB connection (if they have one) for stills and can only download video by Firewire. This is because you have to play the tape into the computer, not just copy a file. The way it works on my computer, the camera is controlled by the computer software (even Windows Movie Maker will work). No driver needed.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card. This will come with a driver for the card. If you have a MAC, you may already have a port.

I hear that these firewire to usb connectors don't work for video transfer anyway.

You can get an add-on Firewire interface card that fits in a slot on the PC's expansion (PCI) bus. This will come with a driver for the card. You shouldn't need any driver for the camera. My camera (a Samsung) is controlled by the Windows Movie Maker program that came with Windows XP. This will cause the camera to rewind and play, and takes in the video to a file.

Looking for SONY DCR-HC35E drivers

I don't think it is drivers you need, if you are hoping to download videos to a computer (but see below).

This type of camera usually downloads better with a Firewire (Sony call this i.Link) connection. Some mini-DV and D8 cameras only use the USB connection (if they have one) for stills and can ONLY download video by Firewire. This is because you have to play the tape into the computer, not just copy a file.

However, you can download USB drivers from a link in the USB connection section.

Whether this will work with Windows 7, I am not sure. My Mini-DV camera, using a Firewire cable, didn't need any camera driver loaded to the computer, just the movie editor that came with Windows XP.

I don't have any drivers for the video camera...lost the cd years ago..how do I transfer video files to pc

I think this camera has a Firewire (DV) connection. Suitable Firewire cables can easily be found on Amazon or eBay. You will need the kind with a small (four pin) connector at one end and a larger (six pin) connector at the other.

You don't say what computer you have. Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card. I don't think you need camera drivers with this interface- it is also used to connect the camera to some VHS recorders and the like. The interface card will come with drivers for the card.

I'm looking for the driver of sony handycam CDR-TRV22E so that i can transfer the video to my pc. thanx.

You can download drivers and manual for this camera from this page.

Advice on how to do the transfer is on this page. (You need to select Mini DV)

Sony recommend using Firewire instead of USB to transfer video from this type of camera.

This camera has both USB and Firewire (DV) connections. Suitable Firewire (DV) cables can easily be found on Amazon or eBay. You will need the kind with a small (four pin) connector at one end and a larger (six pin) connector at the other. The USB cable is less standard at the camera end, so search for one that is compatible with your camera.

Most PCs have a USB port, but no Firewire port. Macs often have a Firewire port but may not have USB. As most Windows PCs do not come with this interface, you might need to fit an add-on Firewire interface card.
