Question about Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop Computer
I am experiencing various problems with the Magicjack & my Dell Inspiron 530...Initially the sound quality was either non-existent or very choppy and I have tried using every usb port on my computer, 4 in back and 2 in front, and the quality has not really improved...The magicjack unit says to plug into computer usb and it says do not plug into hb? That is confusing...My computer now is running erratically, with the magicjack plugged in however it runs fine without the magicjackl plugged in...I run astrology software and google gmail, microsoft excel, etc.., and need to have my computer running at optimal speed...Can you help me?
Mark its likely due to your Internet connection. Go to speedtest.net and run the test. If its 4mb download or below - its not going to work well....period.

SOURCE: internal USB connector
You did not have to unplug the onboard USB ports.
Your OS should see the card reader and set it up, unless you are using Win98 or WinME. I would plug the onboard USB ports, then restart with the new internal card installed.

Hi, I've jst been looking on the web at the Mimo routers, you may find this article interesting, it may help even though its a couple of years old?
Pay attention to part about 802.11n compatibility?
Perhaps try changing the IEEE standard on the router to 802.11g in the set up pages, as it may be set at 802.11n, which your older wireless card will not see.
As to the acquiring ip address message, try using a static ip address, here's a good guide:-
Maybe this will help?

Check Bios settings to be sure audio is enabled, then go to control panel, click on sounds, and make sure sound is not muted

When you reloaded the OS did you reload all the drivers? Sometimes if you do not reinstall the Intel driver the USB port will not be recognized. Happened on the last two DELL's I reloaded. Go to DELL's website and download all the drivers for your model.
Dell support website http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/
Look up your model by service tag, it is the alphanumeric code on the barcode label on the back of your DELL and also sometimes found on either the front or top of your DELL (sometimes it is hidden beneath the USB port cover that you flip up.
Try that and see if it fixes it. Also make sure that the connector did not come loose when you opened the case.
