Question about Honeywell Truezone HZ311 Zone Control Panel

Open Question

Red light on honeywell hz311

We have had issues with the Heating unit not functioning recently. Currently, we flipped the main breaker and the heater unit itself off and on. The heater is working again but we are having a red light indicator next to the word heat on the monitor. Is this normal or indicating something wrong? THanks!

SOURCE: Honeywell HZ517 Baseboard Heater

This troubleshooting approach may be sound, but you need a deep security star screwdriver to open the heater up. I have looked in specialty tool and electronics shops and no one has a screwdriver that gets in deep enough. You won't go anywhere without this screwdriver, so if anyone can suggest a source, that would be great.

SOURCE: honeywell rth230b won't shut off heat

Sounds like a relay sticking. Possibly in the thermostat or possibly the furnace relay at the furnace. The next time it happens, unplug the thermostat from the wall. If the furnace still runs then it's the furnace relay.

Hope that helps...

You could possibly have an ignition problem. The controller will go into a lock-out condition if flame is not established. Turning the temperature control down and then back up may be serving to reset the control system so it tries again.

SOURCE: A/C not turning on - Digital screen is blank

Your honeywell should have battery back up but the primary power for this is a 24 volt transformer located in the air handler probably in your attic. All these controls run on 24 volts

Our travel trailer keeps flipping a breaker when we plug in 2 space heaters at a time what could be causing this?

Two heaters may exceed the capabilities of the wiring.

As you say only the plug breaker, move the other heater to that spot to see if the one heater is faulty. Also try plugging a kettle or similar to it. The breaker may just be weak.

If you are using propane heating, it must be a properly fixed appliance, not freestanding heaters because of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The dryer is not heating. It will run for a short time but then shuts itself off and the top four green lights will flash. We have thoroughly cleaned the lint traps inside and outside of the machine

Hello Brenda Gibson - Try reprogramming the unit by flipping the household circuit breaker off or unplugging it. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, the dryer could possibly be experiencing a communication error with the main control board, wiring failure, or faulty door lock assembly. Consult a professional for an accurate diagnosis and to assist with the repairs.

Heater shut down sometime in the middle of the night and now it will not turn on. I checked the breaker box and when I flipped the master switch, it came on for about a minute or two but was blowing cold...

Hi what has happened is, this is a heat pump. The main breaker keeps tripping because the compressor is shorted. I hate to give you this news, but anytime a unit keeps tripping the main breaker on a heat pump, the compressor is either locked up and drawing enough amps to trip the breaker, or it is shorted internally. This is something that you will have to call a tech out on. I am sorry to give you this news, but this is all it could be. If it came on for a minute blowing cold air, the compressor wasn't running due to it being shorted out. This is your only choice is to call someone out to check it. If this is a older unit, you may be better off replacing the outdoor unit. If not, get an estimate on a compressor change out. I wish you all the best on this, and I know this is bad news, but these things always happen at the wrong time of year. Please keep me posted.
Sincerely,

Heater keeps going off on its on also fan not

Please provide more info. When it goes off does it come back on by itself or do you have to flip a breaker? Is the furnace gas or electric? If it is not moving enough air across your heat exchanger in a gas furnace or across electric heating elements this will trip a safety switch that will stop heating but not fan. Low air speed is most likely from inexperienced or improper duct design/ installation. Duct sizing is very important to move enough air. Don't believe me try breathing thru a straw. If your unit is a gas furnace it has a flashing code that will tell you what is wrong codes listed inside unit door. Could be lots of things. Reply with more info.

Water not getting hot / Kenmore Economizer 6 / Electric

Did you check to make sure that the breaker is good on the unit? Check to make sure you are getting voltage. If not, check to make sure that the thermostat located in behind the panel on the heater is getting voltage and also sending voltage to the elements. If the elements are getting voltage but aren't heating, the element(s) is bad.

My RCCD unit sometimes trips when I turn my main oven on

I'm assuming you are speaking of the line circuit breaker to the stove. If that is the case and there are ** other problems that you k**w of, it is possible that the breaker has gone bad....they do. Get the same brand and rating as you had originally installed. Cut your main feed and open the terminal panel and remove and replace the unit. Restart main feed and set breaker on. If you continue to have issues, check all wiring to your stove...a loose wire or corroded contact point may be a second issue.
