Normally it should be on the back or so.
Otherwise you have to find your manual and look for thr place.

8 digit pin

  1. Connect to the router with a network cable to one of the LAN ports
  2. Open the admin menu at 192.168.1.1
  3. Login with admin / 1234.
  4. Click on GENERAL SETUP -> WIRELESS -> SECURITY SETTINGS
  5. Set "Encryption" to WPA Pre-Shard key
  6. Set the WPA UNICAST to WPA2 (AES) or WPA2 (Mixed)
  7. Set the pre-shard key format to passphrase.
  8. In the field Pre-Shared Key type in the password for the wireless network. It should be at least 8 characters in length. Write down this password. You will need to enter the password when you connect with your WLAN clients to the network.
  9. Click APPLY and APPLY again to restart the router.
  10. Wait for about two minutes, then re-scan your WLAN networks on your Windows 7 system and connect just like before. Now you need to type in the password you set up under step 8.

Hi, I got a tp-link 8901g, but no pin code exists behind the router. Only there is a P/N on its pocket with 10 digits, while I need a 8-digit pin for configure my wireless network. What should I...

If you are configuring your wireless network for the first time there should be no pin required, if there is it should be listed in the manual of the device. If you received this router second hand then you will most likely need to perform a factory reset on it to remove any passwords the previous owner may have set. The default login to the router to access all of the router configuration is user: admin password: admin. To factory reset the router you need to hold the reset button with a pin/paper clip while powering the device on and continue holding it for 15 seconds after powering it back on. This should wipe out all configuration and let you back to stock parameters where you can access the router at 192.168.1.1 and use admin/admin to access and reconfigure your wireless settings from scratch.

I lost my pin

If it is the pin of your encrypted wireless connection (WEP/WPA etc.) then go to router's login page , usually 192.168.1.1 and then login using your admin username and password. In case you had not setup the router yourself then try the following username password combinations :
Username : admin password : admin OR Username : admin password : password
If you are able to login , then you can simply give a new password to your wireless connection . Exact instructions for doing so vary with the make of the router . In case if this doesn't work then you can try doing a hard reset of your router by pressing the corresponding button . Check in the manual of your router for doing so . In case you don't have the manual , then post the Model Number / make of the router or try searching for the manual on the internet or post back the model number for more detailed instructions.

My network setup is asking for a pin number that is on my router. Obviously there is no pin number for this particular router and my network is asking for a 4 or 8 digit number. What do I do?

If its asking for a pin number I would check the sticker on the bottom of the router. it may have the router PIN you are looking for. If not trying typing in your internet browser address bar 192.168.1.1 and find the network settings and see if there is a pin set up, if so write it down or clear it to have no PIN
