SOURCE: need help here

If you replaced the thermocouple, and followed instructions on relighting to the letter and you have good gas supply then the mechanism in the valve is broken and you need to replace valve.Good Luck

SOURCE: i have a ventless heater.

The odp pilot is probably dirty and causing it to shut off due to a false 'low oxygen' situation. Turn the unit off and let it cool completely. Have a drinking straw handy. Locate the opening for the pilot light and use the straw to blow a stream of air across the top of (not into) the pilot assembly. This will create a small vacuum and pull the small particles of dust out of the pilot head. Re-light the pilot light. Note that it should be much stronger and 'bluer' than it was previously. Turn the heater to 'on'. If this does not solve your issue, I would replace the thermocouple. Hope this helps.

HEATER TURNS ON AND RUNS THEN GOES OFF BECAUSE OF THE ROLL OUT LIMIT. tHE BURNER IS IS FLAMING OUT OFF THE BOX.

The furance needs to be clecned. Is the furance in the sdame roomas a clothes dryer. Lent can plug up the furances burrner tubes. With a shop vac switched to the blower side blow out the tubes and cleran the unit. Be careful not to touch the hot surface igitor while cleaning. These will crack easily.

I have a Rheem heat pump and a Honeywell thermostat. I let my air filters get too dirty, and they restricted the air flow so the system shut off. I have replaced the air filters but the upstairs doesn't...

You may need to replace the furances high limit switch. This is located abvove the burrners with the top frot door off. It has two wires going into it. The furance probably was cycling on this switch which automatically resets it self. The thermal dics wears out and starts to trip at lower temperatures. You can temporally jump across the switch and check the furances opreration but do not leave this switch jumperd because it is a safty.

Flame sensor at furance burrner conpartment needs to be cleaned. Flame sensor is located at the left of the burnner compartment fsarthest burner tube from ignitor. Remove and clean with very fine grit sand paper 400 grit works best.

My honeywell focus pro 5-1-1 wont shut off..its showing off on programmable thermostat but its still blowing cold air and i have it set to 90degrees...my problem indicator light on my unit is blinking 4...

Turn the power off at your furnace. Take the top front cover off at the furance. The high limit switch is right in the middle of the unit above the burrner tubes. Two low voltage (24 volts) wires are going into it. It is about 2.5-inches high and about an 1.5-inches wide. Remove the two wires and witn a hair pin hook them togeher at the connectors. Try your furance and see if it runs normally. If it does remove the jumper and replace the high limit switch. *IMPORTANT! never leave the jumper and remove imeditelly after truoble shooting. This is a safty device and keeps the furnace from catching on fire.ALSO IMPORTANT! do not let the jumper lay on or touch metal when trouble shooting. This will short out the 24 volt transformer.

Unless we set the thermostat very high, like 80 degrees, the heater will blow cold air. When the heat does blow, it will eventually stop blowing heat and the fan will continue to blow cold air.

Check and make sure the filter is clean. This sounds like a restriction in the system. If the unit has central cooling make sure ther indoor evaporator coil is clean at the furance. The unit may be cycling the burners on and off at the high heat limit , fan/limit control. You can also eliminate the thermostst from the furance. Turn power off at the furnace and disconnect the wiring from the thermostat. Jumper the red and white wire together. Turn the furnace back on. The furance should run in the heating mode. Try this and see if the problem is still there.

Hi there
I read your report. sounds like your polite need's to be clean. try this tip. Take a paper clip and clean out the polite real good then try to relight it again. If it's still not light. check your control valve and your regulator valve. it'll be one of those two things. Let me know how that went.TY for writing to fix ya.

THE FURANCE IS ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT WENT TO TURN IT ON AND IT WOUNDNT COME ON CHECK POLIT LITE IT WAS OUT WENT TO LITE IT AND IT WOUNDNT LITE

Replace the thermocouple. It is the brass or copper tube that goes into the pilot light to detect the heat from the flame. If it is burned out, the gas valve will not open and the pilot will not light. They are universal and cost less than $10.
