Hi i have a old daewoo overlocker a DCO-165 it dont pickup the threads it dont sticth help please

Install brand new needles.

Keep the presser foot RAISED during the threading process.

Rethread everything from the beginning--thread it in the proper order and verify that it is threaded correctly.

Set the tensions to the midway point and test.

If it is still not creating stitches, you need to take it for service. It most likely has a timing issue.

How do I adjust the upper thread for a "meister 145"?

More than likely you are placing the thread in the wrong area of the tension control. The thread needs to be going between the two shiny, saucer shaped parts. Thread the machine and test the tension control with the foot up (should be loose thread). Test the tension with the foot down. The thread tension should be noticeably more tight. If it is very tight you may need to lower the tension. A good starting point is 3.

How to thread bobbin

  • Place a spool of thread securely on the spool pin.
  • Take the thread to a thread guide that is closest to the spool pin but heading for the bobbin and guide the thread into the guide.
  • There will be some sort of a guide that may look like a button or disk, that the thread will go under or between to hold tension on the thread before it goes to the bobbin.
  • If the bobbin has a hole in the side of it, thread the hole so the tail of thread is on the outside of the bobbin and place the bobbin on the final part of the bobbin winding area.

Multiple threads are coming out of the bottom from the bobbin and stopping the needle.

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

I HAVE Kenmore 385 165 24 bobbin case is loose and I can not get even one stich. Do I miss a srew to hold it in a place? Thanks for help.

if the bobbin case is loose and pops out when started. it is not inserted correctly

make sure you hold the clasp when inserting case and hear the slick into place

make sure upper thread is threaded right and the bobbin thread is even

bring bobbin thread up and pull both threads to the back about fou inches

hold threads and stich a few stiches by hand or foot pedal befor letting fo of the thread.

Thread keeps breaking

Check first that you are using premium thread (not the cheaper type that you'd use in an overlocker/serger). Breaking thread could be because of one of the following reasons -
the upper tension is too tight, the machine isn't threaded correctly, the thread doesn't suit the fabric (I had the problem when sewing an item the other day and changed from cotton thread to polyester and it stopped breaking). In your instruction manual check at the back for a troubleshooting section where it should be listed with some solutions.

Need Manual

I have one; please email me and I'll send you a copy of mine.
I'm also having a problem with mine; the top thread keeps breaking. I realize this must be a pretty basic question, but I am quite ignorant of the ways of sewing machines. I'm sewing just thin cotton pieces together for a quilt, Any suggestions would be welcomed.
