Question about GTCO CalComp Drawing Board III 34480 Graphic Tablet

Open Question

I just purchase a used 34480 ( 36x48) tells me it's a drawingboard 2??

Hi there, okay, first of all as I said, the tablet says right on it it's a calcomp drawingboard 3 but the tablet software downloaded from calcomp finds the tablet and reads it as a drawingboard 2!,,,now, that's not a big deal I don't think but, the 16 button cordles cursor that came with it does not want to work. tablet/software recognize it and the cursor on the pc screen moves around buttons work!... same goes for the cordless pressure sensitive buttons work!..( yes, batteries have been replaced in both!). any ideas?...the corded 4 button cursor works fine but the reason I got the tablet is to draw/paint...much better with a pen! me out if you can...thanks!

First conform that serial port is selected as NONE on digitizer manager while you running the lectra tablet utilities. If you try this already please check your cable connectivity any one of the line may be missing connection. It may work but you can't able to run lectra tablet utilities.

Does the Wacom Intuos2 Classic Pen (xp 300e) work with the Wacom Bamboo CTL 470 tablet?

From what I read on Wacom's site, they are NOT compatible.
The Bamboo use a stylus that is different than the nib pens that the Intuos use. The stylus for the Bamboo is more like the stylus you can purchase for smart phones. The Intuos pens are pressure sensitive and have different nibs you can use for different effects and feel. You can go to their website and look for compatible pens and stylus' for your specific tablet.

Replacement usb dongle

Most of these dongles interact with the software drivers installed on your computer.
Try reinstalling the drivers for the dongle and if that doesn't work you will need a new dongle.

Tablet pointer doesnt match up when working in programs like GIMP

Same problem is happening to me.

I completely understand your frustration. I contacted Trust and they replied that they had no reported problems of the sort, and that it was the software/my pc. :|

Figured out it has something to do with the pen pressure function.
It's only in software that uses it, that it does that with.

Once I figure the rest out, I'll let you know. ;)

Wacom tablet

Most Wacom tablets emulate the mouse so you will always have that function. The question is the extras like pressure and eraser. Those you will just have to try out yourself. But if all you are looking for is a natural interface for your interior design software I think a wacom will work well.
Hope this helps.

Pen pressure and scale problems

I also use Intuos 3 tablet, did you already try replacing the tip and reconfiguring the pen to the screen? You can find this in the driver software, it synchronizes the pen and tablet.
If you already tried that, does the problem only occur in Photoshop? Also, check your brush preferences, you can go back to your default settings and see. If talking to Wacom fails, you might have a bad pen or tablet.
