Check you have not accidently muted the sound on the desktop icon ( speaker icon) Check the (green?) line connector is plugged into the correct port on the sound card or chip Check that the audio driver appears in the sounds tab in the control panel (double click sound icon)
If the driver is missing, re-install it
Also while in there, check the tabs for the volumr mixer etc and see volume is set at max for line out
If those steps fail, check the speakers are getting power and the indicator light is on
Finally, test the soundcard with another speaker, or use headphones if no speakers available
Speakers don't need drivers. If you can't hear anything from them either they are busted (check that by plugging them somewhere else) or there is something wrong in the pc - either you have the volume at 0 or muted or the driver for the audio chip is missing.
Well you may need to go the oem's website and download the latest drivers.Right click my computer select manage there the devices which say other devices are the one you need to take care of.You might have a driver disk floating around.
A computer chip is a small electronic circuit, also known as an integrated circuit, which is one of the basic components of most kinds of electronic devices, especially computers. Computer chips are small and are made of semiconductors that is usually composed of silicon, on which several tiny components including transistors are embedded and used to transmit electronic data signals. They became popular in the latter half of the 20th century because of their small size, low cost, high performance and ease to produce.
hi abdi, the problem is that your sound driver is not installed. You might have got a driver cd when you purchased your PC. Installed the required sound driver and you are done. if you dont know what driver you need you can try sound max or realtek ac97 or conexant audio driver... hope it helps regards bozy
