You may have an issue with the cassette deck on your Sony LBT-D550. The cassette deck uses a belt drive system to operate the cassette mechanism; if belts are broken, it can cause the deck to malfunction.
All the belts may have failed at the same time, but it's also possible that there is another issue causing the problem. Some possible causes of a cassette deck malfunction include:

• A problem with the cassette mechanism itself, such as a jammed cassette or worn-out gears.
• A problem with the cassette deck's motor, which a malfunctioning capacitor or other components could cause.
• A problem with the cassette deck's control board, which a malfunctioning switch or other components could cause.

To determine the cause of the problem, a professional technician should look at the cassette deck.

A safety feature on many newer mower decks and some older ones is: that the engine will not start if the PTO is engaged. Also there is a deck clutch (or deck break) that prevents the deck pulleys from turning. Make sure it is connected properly. It's under the deck and has a big spring on it. If the wire it is attached to has lost tension or is slack for some reason, the deck break will come on and prevent the tractor from starting. It's not usually an engine problem, but a friction problem. Because the deck pulleys are stopped by the break the high amount of friction is to much for the engine to turn over. This usually is the problem if you have the PTO ( deck engage lever) on before you try to start the engine.

Try this site just needs to determine if is one or the tow idler system. The tow idler system is a lot more complex on routing the belt.

Check your safety switch for the deck. That could be your problem .

The number two deck either needs a new belt or there is something else wrong with the take-up drive to the reel table. This needs looking at and if you can not do it then a Tape deck Technician will be needed. They are around and that is what I do full time.

There is a mechanism problem in the Pinch Roller part of the deck.
It needs to be looked at by a Technician to correct.

I had a similar problem, and the problem was fixed by airing up one of my front tires. This may not be all of the problem, but you should eliminate this before you go adjusting.......

Unit may have worn belts that are slipping. All cassette player belts are subject to deterioration even if recently installed. You may try ordering the belts yourself and have a service tech install them. The tech that installed belts 9 months ago may have used used belts. Although dishonest, it is common.

This is a fairly old and obsolete model and its components are now not manufactured. If you are lucky, some stockists may have replacement part, but normally at very high price.
