Service manual for "Insert water spout" problem

The machine responds "Insert water spout" when asked to do hot water. The two micro switches for detection of water spout and milk container works fine and the 5V logic signals make it all the way to the main board. So I'm confident the error is something else that the machine has no error message for. This is further supported by the machine totally ignores the Cappuccino button (except a "Please wait"...). Does any one have access to a service manual or have a hint for this?

Sounds silly but make sure you have both O-Rings on the spout connection and they are in good condition. Run descale on the machine, if possible, it does require a water spout connection. The messages about "water spout" and "grind too fine" seem to be the catch all error for descale. They seem to come up when the machine need to be descaled prior to the normal descale cycle.

Check the heating coils for proper resistance or no resistance. If the machine is sending a signal to check the coils before turning them on AND it is not getting any resistance then it cannot continue. However if you have the machine plugged in near the microwave oven, then a power surge may have blown the control board or caused it to lose its progamming. The control board is expensive!

Testimonial: "Brad, Thanks for your input. The heating module near the top is hot during normal use and the machine can make coffee OK - so I think all the heating elements are OK. Regarding the control board it's definitely not totally fried (the display, coffee functions etc. are working). From an electronics viewpoint it's highly unlikely (requires a miserable design) that the two 5V logic inputs should be blown... Do you have access to a manual or something with a sequential list of checks/actions involved in the cappuccino and hot water functions?"

SOURCE: I have a DeLonghi Prima

Maybe youare not pushing the milk-container sufficiently in. Mine has been increasinglyhard to fit. After speaking with DeLonghi service, they suggested lubricatingthe o-rings on the nozzles on the machine. I asked if cooking oil would be ok,to which they agreed. To I took a cottonstick and dipped it in ordinary cookingoil, and swept it over the inside of the two nozzles on the milk-container,since the o-rings on the machine itself were hard to get to. Now it workssmoothly. I was reluctant to try that out before speaking with DeLonghiservice, since they are so set on only using original stuff for the machine, and I did not think a machine this expensive would need this type of 'help'. Useat your own risk :-)

I have a Delonghi PrimaDonna ESAM 6600. Just recently it stopped frothing milk. To explain fully, I have outlined the sequence of the fault below and resolution steps that I have already tried.

That sounds like the spout is blocked, when the pump goes quiet it is because it has built up pressure and the solenoid is barely moving. Have a probe up the nozzle and see what happens.

"GROUND TOO FINE ADJUST MILL! Insert water spout

  1. Insert steam spout and push OK.

  2. Fill your tank and add descale solution.

  3. Go to program settings - Descale.

  4. Follow the prompts on the readout.

  5. After descale and rise are complete refill your water tank.

  6. Your system should now work as normal.

Note: If you do not have a descale solution, run the above with just water. Remember to descale when you obtain a descale solution.

Initial set up of delonghi ESAM6700 and it will not go past insert water spout stage. Even when spout inserted it does not recognise and we cant continue setting up the machine as it simply reads insert...

OK, I can answer this one... the same thing happened to me. It would not recognize the water spout. No beep when inserted, but it would beep if you inserted the milk container. Looking into the receptacle, I saw that the switch for the milk container is offset to the right, and the switch for the water spout is offset to the left. All I had to do was carefully bend the lower tang on the water spout that activates the switch to the left a little bit. It looked perfectly straight, but was just offset to the right enough to miss the switch.

Hope this helps someone.

Miele CVA610 error reads expel air but when we do as manual suggests (run hot water & milk frother) no water comes out.

- Make sure that the filled water container is in the appliance.

- Turn the program selector to "On" with lighting and place a container under the hot water spout and another

under the steam spout.

- Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and dispense hot water until it flows in

quiet, continuous streams.

- Press the hot water button again.

Turn the steam selector clockwise to o, to turn off the water.

If this doesn't do it for you, you are doing it wrong!

Water & ice

If it is both ice and water not operating then it could be the connector at the bottom of the door , the door light switch inside the freezer as this acts as an interlock or the micro switch that is operated when you insert your glass.
