Question about Televison & Video
This is a brand new Acer H7531d HD projector that has been owned for 2.5 years and been turned on no more than 2 dozen times, this unit has never been dropped or neglected in anyway. My dad turned the unit on one day to wtch the last state of origin and the unit projected thin black lines over the entire projector screen. After my dad liaised with Asus saying that the warranty was out by 1 week they frustratingly said basically to bad and **** eggs to get a replacement free of charge, so i am sitting here with the unit on after it being in storage for a year wondering what it problem could be, the unit works fine there are no problems with the unit other than the fine black lines that it displays on what ever you point the projector at. I AM AT A LOSS! I am know dummy and are quite savvy with todays tech however this one has me stuffed! I am frustrated with what its drama could be so if any one knows or has a bright idea please feel free to voice your idea or knowledge and i would be greatful. Thanks heaps. Dman

My 42" Samsung Plasma HDTV HP-R4252 has a 2" vertical strip of green pixels down the right side of the screen.
My 3 year warranty with Circuit City expires in Nov 2008.. so I hope I'm covered.. can't call until the morning.
Samsung said it might be a logic board problem.. but they want almost $2000 to fix. I might as well buy another TV if Circuit City can't fix it.

I also have the same problem I phoned Samsung today to explain the tv was only 14 months old, they didn't wanna no because it was out of warrenty by 2 months. I am getting a black solid line down the left hand side of the screen. I ended up phoning Dixons were we bought it from, they have told me to get an independent engineers report done & send the report to them within 14 days. Dixon told me it was a known problem with Samsungs. They said they will fix it free of charge if they can if not they will send vouchers to the same value of the television. So beware stay clear of Samsungs.

I must tell you, most people are finding out that flat screen TVs, all of them, are pieces of ****. We were so very used to our CRT clunky square TVs that almost never broke down, and you could buy a new one for a couple of hundred dollars - or less.
Now there is no TV anymore that one can buy for that amount, but there's this great hi-definition, wonderful, full color, amaz... oh ****, the ******* picture just went ******* black again. This ****** ******* piece of ****! I'm going to get my money back, buy a gun with it, go to the dealer and **** ******* and then **** his ******** **** in the ****!!!
Then you pick your reliable cell phone, call up the TV dealer, and your call gets dropped.
I pine for the days of corded phones and a reliable television.
I write this because you said you know there's nothing you can do about your TVs problem, so I'm showing you some support. After all, I am support staff.
Take care, and I hope things go well soon. Thanks for using FixYa.
