SOURCE: cobra 29ltd classic : no rx / tx

Hi,

D23 is the reverse protection diode and it shorting is the primary reason your fuse blew. As you posted, power was applied in reverse, hence other components would also fail. Pls check:
1. D22 - 9.1V Zener Diode
2. TR23 (2SC1096) 9 Volts regulator
3. D19 - 5.1 Zener Diode
4. IC4 (TA7222) - Audio Amp
5. TR14 (2SC2029B/10) - Finals
6. TR15 (2SC2028B/20) - Driver
7. Most capacitors over 220uF (like C123, C114 & C112)

Hope that this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

SOURCE: my cobra hh-36st cb radio is stuck in TX mode. The

G'day,
I think your problem with the Cobra cb is in the microphone, you should have a plug on the Mic cord end ,try disconnecting this from the CB unit and see if it clears it self. If this does the trick your problem is in the Mic it self, or the cord has a fault in it. However if you still have a problem it may be that the transmitt/ receive relay located in the Cb is stuck on transmitt, sometimes this can be cleared by tapping the case with the handle of a screw driver, place towel on the case first to stop any damage to the case( this doe's not always work) you may in this case need to have it serviced
all the best hope I have been of help,
John

Good day I have an cobra 148 Gtl tx and rx a working but no out put

It might not seem obvious but on many, if not all, current CB radios have separate wires coming from the microphone for RX and TX. It seems like the mic wire for TRANSMIT may be open. It is a common failure.

I have a Vintage kinematix reverb with 5 wires red, yellow, white, brown and black how I hook it up what are the wire? it also has a delay tuning knob

usualy you have a transmit recieve switch
like this
.....common
RX <<-- >TX ptt

so three wires
the ptt button common in a cb with 4 pins is also ground
should be
black screen and i think brown
but you need to meter out the ptt common and RX TX
for rx audio switched radios then one pin is RX one pin is TX one pin is common or ground for the PTT and also ground for the screening copper braids and also ground for the transmit audio
so you have 5 wires
3 will be PTT 1 will be audio and one audio ground
usually white or yellow
so i think black and yellow or black and white
black being ground

just look up the schematic or service manual for your CB
and check out the 4 pin plug config
there is only two usual ones
cybernet or uniden so.. easy stuff
look for like cybernet cb 4 pin wireup in google or similar
remember just meter out using the beep test range on a cheep multimeter too see which three are the PTT
so the common of the ptt needs connected to the copper screening and also to the black wire all to the ground pin on the 4 pin plug
you can short from the ground pin on the cb side to its TX pin and the set will enter tx mode
same with rx audio enable {if uses most cb post 1984 dont use RX audio hard switching}
so just three pins to worry about

Why does my new Honda CB always show RX receiving transmission no matter where squelch is set?

if this is on a Goldwing, it appears that you have a shorted pin int he connector. Disconnect the radio and make sure all of the pins are straight and connecting properly.

How to remove the letters RX near the battery so u can talk to another person It's a Uniden hand held receiver model-uh043sx-2

Hi Phillip,

The Rx symbol indicates that someone else is using the channel, which, (if your radio is working correctly) means you should be hearing them, if this is the case then there is nothing you can do to change that, because only one person at a time can use the channel at a time, however, as we\'re talking about CB radios, that is not always the case, dependant on the make and model of the radio in use.

In the case of your radio, not much can be done, as that is a factory default setting, so you can\'t override this without getting into the unit and risk stuffing it up period.

If you know someone in the 2-way radio game i.e,. a radio technician, or radio amateur, they could help, otherwise you can\'t do much about this.

If this is a real problem for you, then getting a bigger 5 watt radio could be an answer, as these are normally set by default to allow you to override the Rx when you Tx.

Note: Don\'t buy a Chinese made unit, as these are not reliable, nor stable units for Aussie use, I found this out when I purchased an Oricom CB... Absolute crap, cheap and nasty. Be aware of where radios are made, regardless of brand name.

I hope I have been of assistance.

Regards,
Peter

I CANT HERE OR PUT OUT I NDONT KNOW WERE THE NOBS SHOULD BE

Big Knob settings from left to right...
First knobset...inner turn "volume" fully clockwise
... outer "squelch" fully counterclockwise
Second knobset...both inner and outer knobs fully clockwise
Third knob...chose which mode you want to use...Am or Fm (If your radio has been modified to TX/RX CB frequencies, chose AM)
Fourth knob...chose your band (If your radio has been modified to TX/RX CB frequencies, chose band D/A)
The only other knob that is important is the high/low power switch. It selects the band from the pair chosen by the band knob. I don't know if band D corresponds to high or low, so try both settings until one works.

If you can't TX or RX with these settings either there is no one talking at that time or your radio, antenna, or cable might be defective. You should get a copy of the owners manual to fully learn how to chose bands and adjust the settings. I've given you a starting point that should work but may not be optimum for all conditions.

My magnum when i key up it blows the fuse, what could it be?

check your aerial for open/short circuit/power wiring to cb in truck/upgrade the fuse by 1 amp/mike wiring (tx/rx) if the cb shop could'nt find anything wrong then the faults in the truck/aerial/power? or the cb shops not up to much! you could have a faulty output transistor in the cb if all else fails?
