Can you open the switch end of fenix hl21?

A battery leaked in my fenix hl21 headlamp. Now the light won't turn on. I'm trying to clean the contacts - they're very, very corroded - and it'd be great if I could open the switch end of the battery compartment to do that - is that possible or will I just snap the plastic trying? Many thanks

The plastic will break and even if you do get access to that, the issue with the corrosion will still cause problems.

Head lights on 02 cavalier low beam not working


Headlamps
The headlamps are operated when the driver places the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMP position. The LT HDLP and RT HDLP fuse in the IP fuse block, supply battery positive voltage to both the left and right headlamps. The low beam and high beam circuits continue to the headlamp switch. Depending on the position of the dimmer switch, either the low or high beam circuit will now have a path to ground. Ground is provided at G204. The low beam and high beam circuits also provide the body control module (BCM) with both low and high beam inputs. The headlamp switch includes the dimmer and the flash-to-pass switch.
If the headlight switch is left in the HEADLAMP position, the headlights will remain on until turned off or the battery runs dead.

The ground under the battery has nothing to do with the headlamps . G-204

No, that is a 'feature'. It is for signalling or blinding an attacker.

This is the instructions for the 500 lumen version but it will be the same. Nice light, I run Fenix Tactical. Strobe is usually gained by switching on and then half depressing the button and holding. If this doesn't work, contact Surefire direct.

Daytime Running Lamps
With the daytime running lamps (DRL) programmed to be on, the DRL will operate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the gear selector lever is out of the PARK position, the headlamp switch is in the OFF or PARK position, and the ambient light sensor indicates daytime conditions. Battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied to the DRL relay coil through the underhood fuse block. Battery positive voltage is supplied through the underhood fuse block FOG/DRL Fuse to the DRL relay normally open contact. The DRL relay normally closed contact receives ground for normal high headlamp operation. When the dash integration module (DIM) determines that conditions are right for the DRL, the DIM grounds the DRL relay coil. This energizes the DRL relay coil and closes the switch to the normally open contact. Battery positive voltage (B+) is supplied to the LH and RH high beam headlamps in series. The high beam headlamps split the voltage and each lights at half intensity. Current will follow the path from the DRL relay to the LH high beam headlamp, HDHIBML Fuse, HDHIBMR Fuse, the RH high beam headlamp, then to ground.

Twilight Sentinel
The twilight delay switch in the headlamp switch is supplied a reference voltage from the instrument panel integration module (IPM). It is supplied a reference ground from the IPM. The switch is a potentiometer that resistance varies as the switch is moved. The IPM receives an input voltage proportional to the resistance of the potentiometer. The IPM sends a class 2 message to the dash integration module (DIM) indicating the on/off status and delay length for the twilight sentinel. With the twilight sentinel in an ON position, the DIM will automatically control the headlamps on/off status depending on the nighttime/daytime status of the ambient light sensor. The DIM will use the twilight sentinel delay length to know how long to keep the headlamps and park lamps on after the ignition switch transitions from ON to OFF during nighttime conditions.

You can't turn them on manually with the switch . You have the switch set on auto ?
Headlamps
You can use the headlamps in two different ways.
• Place the headlamp switch in the ON position for normal operation.
• Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position for automatic lamp control (ALC). During ALC the high beam headlamps are On at reduced intensity for daytime running lamp (DRL) operation in daylight conditions, or low beam headlamps On in low light conditions.
The DRL/EXT LTS fuse and the EXT lamps fuse in the underhood junction block supply battery positive voltage at all times to both of low beam lamps and to the right high beam lamp. The low beam circuit continues to the high/low beam switch, then, depending on the position of the dimmer switch, connects to the normally-open headlamp relay switch contacts. Placing the headlamp switch in the HEAD position provides a ground path for the headlamp switch input of the Body Control Module (BCM). After receiving this input, the BCM energizes the headlamp relay. When the headlamp relay is energized, the low beam circuit is connected to ground G201. The high beam circuit is divided into a left and a right side circuit.
The DRL/EXT LTS fuse in the underhood ignition block supplies battery positive voltage to both the coil and to the normally-closed contact of the DRL relay switch circuit. During high beam operation, the left side current flow is through the closed contacts of the DRL relay, and to the left high beam lamp.
The EXT Lamps fuse in the top of the engine fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the right high beam lamp. Both high beam circuits are then connected together, and continue to the dimmer switch. When the driver closes the high beam contacts of the dimmer switch, the circuit is grounded at G201.
Both the headlight switch and the BCM provide a ground, or control circuit, to the headlight relay coil circuit for manual or automatic headlamp operation. When you place the headlamp switch in the OFF position, and the ambient light sensor indicates low light conditions, the BCM energizes the headlamp relay for low beam operation. You may switch the headlights to high beam by pulling the dimmer switch handle toward you until the dimmer switch is activated. When the dimmer switch is placed in the HIGH position, the indicator lamp input to the BCM is pulled low. The BCM then sends a class 2 message to the instrument cluster in order to illuminate the high beam indicator lamp.
If the headlamp switch is left in the head position, the inadvertent power control feature will turn off the headlights 10 minutes after you turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. If you place the headlamp switch in the head position after the ignition switch has been turned OFF, or if the ignition switch is in the ACCY position, the headlights will remain ON until you turn them OFF or until the battery runs dead.

I have a Fenix TK15 that doesn' light up. I have changed batteries, still no light


Hi marlyn engaling...
Sounds like you need to replace your bulb, it may be burned out.
Also check the switch and also make sure the spring in the back of the flashlight is touching the battery tightly to make good contact.

1999 oldsmobile 88 headlights wont shut off


Pull this circuit breaker till you can find the problem. Check for applicable trouble codes. You have a lighting control module, I can't troubleshoot that component from here.

Fenix hp11 headlight


Hi, I have some experience with this unbekievable good headlight(when it works).
I had a hp10 what started to stop more and more.
After a while it wasn't going on.
5 years warrenty, so i got a new one, the new model.hp11
The main problem is the wire from battery case and the head led.
When there a litte damage inside this wire, light goes of not going on it selfs when it connecting again. After a while it will not work any more.
(if you have a welding station you fix it your self (battery case,can go open by unscrew the wire entrance.)

Chack battery case if the springs are all still connecting the battery.
If you put in one battery false on there is short cut and al sprigs get so hot they will shrink. And stay in that position..fix that your self or ring/ contact the shop you bought it.
There 5 year of garrantie.

The flashlight won't turn on even though it has new batteries.


Check the bulb. Unscrew the light to inspect the contacts for the batteries and (as possible) unscrew in a place you can check the contact points for the bulb, switch and bulb. A simple cleaning with a contact cleaner, WD40, dry wool or as possible a blade (knife).

Headlight problem with my 2000 Corvette. Sometimes when I start the car both headlights pop up and turn on and the switch will not turn them off. I have to turn the engine off and turn the light swith on...


Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits ?
When the headlamp switch is turned to the HEAD position, battery voltage is applied to the headlamp opening door actuator control module through CKT 103. The LH head lamp door opens when battery voltage is applied to the LH headlamp opening door assembly through CKT 576 and ground is applied to CKT 577. The RH headlamp door opens when battery voltage is applied to the RH headlamp opening door assembly through CKT 578 and ground is applied to CKT 579. When the headlamp switch is moved to the OFF position, battery voltage is applied to the headlamp opening door actuator control module through CKT 306. The LH headlamp door closes when battery voltage is applied to the LH headlamp opening door assembly through CKT 577 and ground is applied to CKT 576. The RH headlamp door closes when battery voltage is applied to the RH headlamp opening door assembly through CKT 579 and ground is applied to CKT 578. Battery voltage is constantly applied to the headlamp opening door actuator control module from the HDLP MOT L MiniFuse® #4 (CKT 2940) and from the HDLP MOT R, MiniFuse #3 (CKT 3040). The headlamp opening door actuator control module is grounded by CKT 150 through Splice Pack #100 to G102.

Headlamp Doors Do Not Close
Install a scan tool and go to the BCM input display.
Monitor the headlamp off switch status.
Turn the headlamps on and off.
Does the scan tool indicate the headlamp off switch inactive and active?

YES - Go to Step 4
NO - Go to Step 6

Disconnect the headlamp opening door actuator control module connector C1.
Connect a DMM from connector C1 terminal D to ground.
Measure resistance to ground of circuit 150.
Is resistance within the specified values?
0-2 ohms
YES - Go to Step 5
NO - Go to Step 9

Connect a test light from the headlamp opening door actuator control module connector C1 terminal C to ground.
Turn the headlamp switch off.
Does the test light illuminate?
