I think it's in the admin panel, if you select the "Wireless" option (not any of the subcategories) and untick Hide SSID Broadcast.

I bought an I-spy tank from HappyCow. I down loaded the app for androids the modem for tank shows up but when I try to connect software it does not connect

The android app should connect direct with the Tank, not the router. The SSID is the number of the TANK. See the FAQ here

Computer cannot recognize wireless network coming from a router. It recognises a number of other networks but not mine

You need to configure the router to show its SSID or at least give it an SSID. Without one, the router doesn't know who it is. It doesn't have to be displayed as long as you know what it is, but you must define it yourself. Then if you chose not to have the router display it, you will manually have to tell the computer the SSID ytou want to connect to.

Wireless ssid not showing in some laptops and mobiles -dlink router

The D-Link wireless router may have the SSID broadcast turned off.
In this case only computers that have wireless connection to the D-Link will show the SSID.
If you know the SSID you can enter the SSID manually in the wireless card settings in the laptop/computer.
Turn on SSID broadcast in the D-Link wireless settings.

How do i get the ssid number

The "ssid" is the broadcasted name of your router, if you have a computer or another device that picks up wireless signals it will show the "ssid," or name of your network, usually as the first option in the list of networks found.

Hi, I am trying to connect to xbox live but I need to know the following... SSID network name or connection or number??? Security type Security key Please help....I am lost. I have the router model...

All of that information is what YOU need to know. The security type and security key are things you would choose when you initially set up your router.

To find your SSID go to Start> Run> type CMD at the prompt type ipconfig copy the default gateway in your address bar.
Your information should be:
User name: (Leave Blank)
Password: admin
unless it has been changed already.

Go to your Basic Wireless Settings and you can find your Wireless Network Name (SSID) column. On there you can edit your SSID.

You can then click on the security tab and that will tell you what security type you use. It won't show your password, it will show ***** so it will only show the # of digits. That may jog your memory. You should be able to change your key too.

hope this all helps.

The SSID is the name of the wireless network. On the Belkin routers if you connect to the router using your web browser (default is by typing in the address bar) on the left side of the screen there will be a selection for "Channel and SSID" under wireless. If you have a computer that uses wireless you can also scan fo available wireless networks and it will show you a list of the wireless networks near you and from that list you can find the one that you use and the name of the network is the SSID.
