McIntosh parts are both expensive and difficult to find. The parts usually have to be obtained from McIntosh itself (which is overseas), and they are quite expensive.

I need to change lamps in McIntosh MC7205 Amplifier

First off before you do it is a specific bulb custom sized. I cannot stress enough how important it is to use the correct bulbs for this application. If you go the cheapy way it will COST in the end. There is a reason for it. I recently had one someone brought in that used the incorrect bulbs and burned the blue to a horrible brown and blue away from the face as well as melted the face a little. Spend the extra and get the bulbs from McIntosh It was a three hundred dollar repair job. You will save by getting the correct bulbs and doing it yourself. I hope this helps pointing the way to save lots of later frustration.

McIntosh 6100 Integrated vintage 1976

Most likely, one channel is blown plus power supply capacitors have to be replaced, switches and controls cleaning, all lamps replaced. That would be an average repair on that model.

McIntosh MA6100 integrated Amp Phoho input crackiling

These units are capacitor coupled between stages. It sound to me like one or more of those caps are defective. There is an extra stage of amplification for the Phono inputs. Check the phono pre-amp section for defective caps. Dan

Adding 2 extra channels to pair a MC7205 with a MX119 pre/pro

Yes, you can connect the MX119 'Multi-Amp' output connection to the MC7205 using a 'Parallel' 25-pin cable. It will send Front_L/R/Center/Surround_L/R signals (5 total) to the MC7205, then use a separate pair of RCAs cable to connect the 2 back-surround signals to another 2-channel amp and you are all set.
