Same Problem

Nov 08, 2008

-   This is the same defective monitor sold by I-Inc. Monitor dies 14 months after purchase. The button goes from yellow to blue but will not display screen. Price is cheap because only 1 yr warranty. $93.00 to fix.....-   Guest

-   blinking blue - yellow. swapped cpu's, this monitor still blinks blue - yellow & no picture. swapped monitors and desktop appeared.-   tross_p3

-   My XG-71D also blinks on and off when I try to start up my computer. After about three reboots it finally starts to hold a picture longer then another one usually gets it to function properly. Worked fine until I upgraded from my Radeon 9600 SE to a GeForce 7600 GS. Using an 8800 GTS 512 now and it still does this. Possibly an issue with newer graphics cards? In any case I'm looking into a new monitor.-   Mikase

-   tried to log off on the computer to restart. now the monitor won't displany anything. The green light just blinks on & off-   Guest

-   I unplugged it from the computer and it changed colors then plugged it
back in and it went back to blinking green.Could it be a video card issue?

I had exactly the same problem, I could see the desktop briefly then blackness. The solution to me was a different power supply. One similiar in voltage and amps and plug and it worked, the power supply was dead.

The VX922 is commonly known to do this after a year or two after use.

Viewsonic HAS to help you out if you are still under warranty.

Im through 2 of my 3 years, I will RMA this so they can fix it, replace it, or give me a new monitor.

Good Luck,

Douglas

This problem is with the AC Adapter. You need to replace it.  Unfortunately, X2Gen is Bankrupt and finding one has been difficult.  I have 5 of these monitors in my office and switched out the AC Adapter and it works fine.  So, on goes my search for a different adapter.

One of the inverter controlling transistors is failing. If you can see that it is burnt, you know which one, otherwise you should change both. Model # FDS8958A.
