If you don't know how don't do it .If you turn the wrong pot you could kiss that radio goodbye.Find a tech and let them do it.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: My general lee cb radio

At that point if you've checked everything else throughly..like the mic, and the coax, and the antenna and the mount, and still nothing? You may possibly have a radio that needs to go to a repair shop. Actually I take back my last sentence....with a radio like the General Lee, its worth quite a bit of money, and if all obvious things are checked and still nothing I'd recommend having a local radio shop open the hood and take a look. I've had many people tell me that there are no radio shops to bring thier rigs to. So if your in the same boat I'll tell you what I told them...call you local police department or sherrifs office and ask them who does the work on their radio system....(just don't call them on the 911 line) I'm just wondering what your SWR readings were when you were using the radIo? Did you use an in line meter, or the one on the radio....cause I'm guessing your levels were high and you didn't recalibrate it and burned the primaries....sorry I don't have an easy fix answer for you....keep me posting on your progress I'm kind of curious

SOURCE: When I transmit it feeds through my stereo

  • That Connex does 80 Watts stock and peaked can do 100 real easy. That's more than enough to come through your stereo, TV, land line phone. Couple things you can do.

  1. Turn the power down and have the radio aligned so it does not "splatter" everywhere.
  2. You can buy some ferrite cores and places them on the power cord, speaker wires, TV coax to help soak up some of that excessive RF.
  3. You can also buy some .001uf ceramic capacitors (little orange heads on them) and solder one end of each leg of the capacitor on each speaker lead on the back of the speaker itself.

  • Hope this helps.

My general lee stops working on upper channels

Vco out of range.. Tuned wrong.. Very common.. It probably kept you from burning it up since your swr will get too high even 10ch above 27.405= ch40.. Bells cb or finetune cb can allign it correctly.... Imo stay on cb .. Your antenna is not broadbanded enough and you dont have ssb and its not legal..

Is there anything to clip in a general lee for more audio

There shouldn't be anything cut.. there are adjustments internally for the radio. A shop shouldn't charge to tune up so it works better. and they shouldn't cut anything either ..
