My dell steak wil not come on. the only lights on are the ones on the front right side. the screen is black will not light up to charge

I used it a couple of days ago to download some pic from it to my laptop and it was working fine. It wouldn't light up at all when I tried to turn it on today. I got a paper clip and inserted in the hole and I could hear it click as i pushed the clip, so now the right side front 3 lights are light and staying on. Will not go off. Nothing else is working. Just stuck the clip back in and the lights went out. now I tried pushing the on off switch again and the 3 lights flicker and try to come on but want stay lite. This dell has been used very little and is in great shape. til now

How long does the battery last, when you use your computer WITHOUT the AC adapter connected?

Did you purchase a 1-year, 2-year, or 3-year warranty?
If the latter, you could exercise the warranty, and get the battery replaced.

Do you have any friends with a compatible laptop?
Does their battery charge to 100% in your computer?
Does your battery charge to 100% in their computer?

Have you looked on eBay to purchase a replacement battery?
Or, there is a company in Seattle that takes your battery,
opens it up, replaces the cells, closes it, and ships it back to you.
This could be less expensive than buying a new genuine-DELL battery.

I just set up the Orbo Jr tablet for my daughter. It only charged once and now it won't charge at all! Why isn't it charging?

I bought two of these for my daughters and BOTH developed this same charging problem within 2 weeks of use. I searched online for firmware solutions to no avail. I missed out on my chance to get them warranty replaced because I bought them early for Christmas and the warranty expired while waiting to be opened. Though I'd gather because this happened to both of them so easily, and because of other user experiences online, this is a rampant problem and really a defect of this model you probably can't fix by just replacing it. They just have awful batteries and that's a fact.

Using a long fingernail, spudger, or any thin rigid card, you can pry the back casing off from the front screen and completely off. The power and volume buttons can come out separately, so be careful not to lose them while prying the casing apart. The speaker is attached to the back case with a light adhesive, it can be pulled right off the back casing. Just above the speaker wire to the right/left of the main logic board, is a large rectangular battery. Two things I noticed right off the bat is the battery is the soft cell-type that bends easily and can be very dangerous to rupture, which might happen if you tried to force it out. Also, the +/- lead cables are soldered to the side of the logic board, which will make replacement even more advanced. Only a professional should do this. However - if you're willing to accept the tradeoff of losing that battery completely (which was fine for me since it was already functioning like garbage), and being only able to use the tablet while plugged in - PERMANENTLY - then you can go ahead and cut the red/black +/- cables right where they are soldered to the logic board. There's already tape inside that you can tuck the cut cables into. This will permanently disable the battery for good. Put the speaker back into the back casing and make sure you don't have exposed wires preventing you from snapping the casing back together. Then snap it all back together.

Once you plug it in, you may see the Orbo and charging icon. Afterwards when the screen is black. Hold the power button a few seconds and release. When you finally do it right you should get the Android logo and the device will boot up. While it is disappointing to have a device that has to now be always plugged in, it's better than nothing, and a free fix. On the plus side, the tablet works BETTER THAN EVER. Even the wireless problems it was always plagued with are gone.

It's shameful proof this device is a poorly manufactured ripoff that actually bypassing the battery logic makes it work BETTER, but at least I can salvage the $100 I spent for now.

Toshiba AT200 is on but screen is black

Hi Andrea,
When you switch on your tablet, can you see some images on your screen - they are dark.
There are LED lights behind the screen that light it up, and these may not be lighting up.
If this is the case, you may have to take it back to the store where you bought it or a repair man.

My Tablet is completely black.

If you are still have a light indicator in the battery charge, you are in luck. Recharge completely your tablet before you trying to restart it. Once is fully charge, push the on and the volume button at the same time, but not for more than 5-6 seconds at the time, and not more often than every 20-30 seconds apart. Hold the volume button by the (-) side not the (+) side when you do that. It should restart the Wizard to reboot and get your tablet back on line...

Fuse keeps blowing for front and rear side lights, also no fog lights on rear, but one front fog light working. everytime i change fuse then switch side lights on fuse blows, also dial/speedo lights not...

Sounds to me that there has been somehow a mistake in wiring. Was the car involved in an accident? I think what is happening is thatwhen you turn the light on the +12vdc go right to grond and pops the fuse. Solution is pull the side bulbs, turn the lights on then plug the bulbs back in. When the fuse blows then that is the bulb that has the short. ( not the bulb but its wiring ).

Good luck

Dell Latitude XT2 fails to start up.

I know this is an old post, but the LED code for CAPS lock on, F4 flashing, F5 on means memory issue. I had this issue, reseated the memory, and the issue was resolved.
