Question about Kenmore 55612 / 55614 / 5561 / 655619 Side by Side Refrigerator
One nite the ice maker stuck in the fill position and dumped about 2 gallon of water into the freezer. We got a new ice maker and can not get it to fill. I have checked and get 58 volts to the ice maker. The fingers on the ice maker will turn but I don't get water to it. Is this normal voltage or has a board or fuse opened so I only get half the voltage?

Most common problem is a broken ice maker module. Should also replace ice maker thermostat when changing the module. Make sure fill tube isn't frozen first. If you take the ice maker out pull off the plastic cover and in the center of the wheel that kind of looks like a gear there are two little plastic studs. If one is broke or they are pressed together then the module is bad. Make sure to replace the thermostat along with some silicone grease because a bad thermostat is what causes the module to break.

Most ice makers have an adjustment screw to control the cube size. Its usually hidden behind a plastic panel on the front of the ice maker. A quarter turn either way and some trial and error testing should get you pointed in the right direction to your ideal ice cube.

I'm not sure in your case if its better to order a new ice maker or if you want to take it apart and change the thermostat or possibly the limit switches. Some have a spring so if you try to do it yourself do it slowly and carefully as not to lose the internal parts. Let me know, I will help you if you need, Sea Breeze
