My sharp photocopier AR-M276 is showing error code U7-00. so what is the cause and remedy to it

Hi

U7-00 is pc/modem trouble, would you know whether you have a network port on the side of the machine, and whether it is connected to the network?. If you have and it is not connected to the network, that is what the error is, it is expecting an connection of some description.

if you go into settings on the machine, you can switch off the nic/tcp option, which should get rid of the error code.

Cheers

Andy

CALL FOR SERVICE.CODE:U7-00

According to the error code manual, it means "U7 00 PC/Modem communication trouble" - You can download the entire list of all codes at the link below. It includes your machine specifically. Hope this helps. http://olsonbros.com/sharp/support/pdf_trbl/trbl-arm550n_m550u_m620n_m620u_m700n_m700u.pdf

SHARP SF 2540 How to troubleshoot U3-20 and u7-00 ROMBLON

U3,20 - Mirror motor lock detection

U7 00 - Communication trouble between PC/Modem and the copier.

Seems to me the U3 error is something similar to the L6 errors in the slightly newer machines. It seems as though the laser moter in your machine has seized.

As for the U7, i have had this error out on the field before. Especially when the machine has had IP setting put into the machine but the network cable isn't plugged in. Throws up that bad boy =]

Error Code U7 Light On Xerox 5328

Most likely the copy cartridge is the problem. There is one other thing to check though. There is a belt hole sensor mounted about in the middle of the upper **** shell of the machine. When you take off the upper front cover, it is a black assembly with 2, 5.5 MM screws holding it into the frame. It also has 2 high voltage wires running into it. Check to see if that is loose. Those screw holes will often strip and that sensor is out of position. If that is it. you can just replace those screws with the next larger size screw.
Just as likely though, is the belt is slipping or the sensor opening is blocked by dirt.
You can probably pick up a remanufactured copy cartridge for $200.
Look on E-Bay or google a business called The Parts Drop and give Britt a call. I dont work there. but have done business with them for years.
