Question about Toshiba 32AFX61 32" TV

1 Answer

Screen goes green with lines then shut off

Please Help...I have a Toshiba 32AFX61 TV that's about 5 years old. A couple months ago it started shutting off by itself and the power light would be blinking. Read some post here and tried unplugging and plugging back in. This worked for a while but it has steadily gotten worse, doing it more frequently. Sometimes it would stay back on for hours, and other times would shut back off after only a few minutes. Now when I go through the unplug/plug in routine it just comes on with the entire screen a lime green with squiggly lines then shuts off right away, power light blinking. Could this be the power supply gone bad? Or something more serious and I not even bother with trying to have repaired. I don't plan on trying to fix myself. Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Horizontal Green Lines On Screen. No Picture Visible. Problem is intermitent.

Are you certain of the connection? Sometimes the connector becomes loose or otherwise loses integrity. Maybe it's the cable (HDMI, right?)--or both the TV's connector and that. They may become worn.

Be careful with your LCD screen--they are more delicate than most people realize.....

Green picture with horizontal green lines...

First, Id like to know how old is your unit? Also, the lines indicates in issue with regards to the lifespan of your tube. The dominant green color has something to do with a malfunctioning ray gun of your tube. However, i had encounter a unit that was resolved by simply resoldering the circuitry of same problem.
Why dont you try to resolder the board first.

Response is highly appreciated.
