Can't connect to internet

I have a Dell Vostro laptop connected to the internet via a Dell Wireless WLAN Card. It is connected via a wireless router. All was working fine until yesterday. When I turned on my computer, the 2 icons on the lower taskbar that show signal stregnth and connection both had red X's through them. When I right click on the green signal icon, it says radio disabled. When I choose enable, I get a pop up reminder that states "The Dell Wireless card is still disabled. Slide the Wireless on/off switch to enable or press Fn-F2 to enable it"
Well the Fn-F2 command does nothing. I don't know what it means by slide the on/off switch. Also, at the same time, a box comes up that states "Wireless adapter radio off". When I go into the Wireless utility and check the box for Enable radio and press apply, the same reminder comes up regarding the "Wireless card is still disabled".
Something else that pops up whenever I turn the computer on is a box that says "Dial-up Connection" and it defaults to Blootooth connection and asks me for a username and password. Don't know what thats all about either. I did use the blootooth connection to transfer files from my cell phone to my computer a few days ago.
Well that seems to be it for now.
Your assistance would be appreciated

There is a switch on the front or side that needs to be put to the on position, if it's anything like mine it is very small and hared to see. If you normally have a LED that tells you that the adapter is on, it's normally near that.

How to use dell vostro as hotspot

Download "Connectifyme". It is a free version with other powerful options in paid version.
But keep in mind. You either need 2 wireless adapter, 1 for internet connectivity and 1 for hotspot.
Or, you connect to the internet via LAN port and wireless adapter for wireless hotspot.
Or, connect to the internet via LAN port to a wireless modem and hotspot with your builtin wireless adapter.
Let me know if you need more info.

I have a Dell Vostro 1520 laptop with a Dell 1510 Wireless-N card. At the moment, I'm connected to my neighbor's wireless internet. I'm in a basement and the neighbor's house is about 10...

Try placing your laptop as close to the location of their router, removing barriers like walls for best speeds. Maybe your neighbour is having the same problem. Have them unplug the router for 10 sec (no more). Power-cycling once-a-month or so, is a good thing

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.

When it asks for the network security key type in the numbers that are located on the sticker on the bottom of your router between the [########] brackets.
