New gears are $88.50 plus freight. You won't find any used gears because these usually break first. I can help.

Fix paper shredder

The problem is usually shattered plastic gears inside if the motor works but the shredder blades don't. My shredder has two shredded cogs. Getting replacements is not easy. The companies that sell these types of cogs, don't want to sell singly. If they were 10 bucks each, it is cheaper than buying a new shredder. There are YouTube videos on how to repair them with metal strips or epoxy adhesive.

Fellowes is a good make, so contact them direct.

Replacement Parts - Paper Shredders Can I get my Fellowes paper shredder repaired or purchase parts for it?

The majority of Fellowes personal shredders (small shredders that can fit under a desk) are repairable and will have parts available. If you would like to check your model shredder to determine if parts are available, please click the "Ask a Question" tab above, and advise the model of shredder, the shredder's serial number and a description of the part needed. The serial number will be located on the bottom side of the shredder head below the bar code.

*** Please note: If your shredder is still within the warranty period, we ask that you do not open your shredder until speaking with a Fellowes Representative, as opening the unit may void your warranty.***

Fellowes office/commercial shredders (large shredders that cannot fit under a desk) are repairable and parts will most likely be available. I have the same problem with a stripped gear, to remove the top i found it best to place the shredder on its back, then with a pozi screw driver there are 5 screws securing the top in place, these are inside the shredder above the paper bin, 1 in each corner and 1 in the centre.

Hope this helps.

Broken plastic gear tooth - Fellowes P55-C Shredder

I suggest using Belzona (metal compound). Mix it with its hardner, paste it over the broken gear (dont worry if it gets over a couple of other gears. Let Belzona sink and dry (4-5hours). Get a Dremel drill with a fine blade on it and cut accurately where the teeth are meant to be. Voila, you have fixed your gear.

Shear pin ??

You most likely have several teeth broken off the drive gear that drives the cutting block. Not too difficult to replace but you need some special tools. A deep well socket (I think it's about a 3/8") to remove the cutting block and replace the broken gear. The gear should be available from a Fellowes dealer, or they might sell it to you direct if there is no dealer near you.

Let me know if this helps.
